Annan: Bush Destroying Arab Unity

(2005-03-04) -- The Bush administration's foreign policy blunders threaten to "drive a wedge through the Arab world destroying the unity which has kept the middle east peaceful for decades," according to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

Mr. Annan's remarks come just hours after Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah told Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to immediately withdraw Syrian troops from Lebanon.

"Bush has sown discord and disharmony among these peace-loving, stable regimes," the Secretary-General said. "If he stays on this disruptive path, we may see the demise of a whole culture -- a way of life. The world will know whom to blame for this tragedy."

The U.N. Security Council today takes up debate on a resolution condemning the U.S. and sending a delegation to the middle east "to halt the imminent decline into untrammeled liberty."

What unity could Bush be destroying? The Arab people are not united on anything! They let the Palestinian people live in a war zone to push their agenda when these folks could move to other Arab countries and have plenty of room.
Besides, can there be unity? There is a disparity in income between ultra-rich oil nations and those who have nothing. What unity is this UN guy talking about?

Is "Kofi" his native language for "Flamer"? Or is it "enabler", "Boss Tweed", or a combination of all three? U.N delenda est!

This is the dumbest thing a recognized world leader of any sort has said in decades.

Unity - Like the Iran Iraq War, Iraq invading Kuwait, Syria in Lebanon, the Kurds, the palestinians getting kicked out of Jordan etc...

Lots of unity going on over there in the past decades.

Either there's another middle east in the world I don't know about or Kofi has been smoking his "special" tobacco again.
