Intellectual Superiority At Its Best
02/19/2005 | me

In todays society it not an easy task to raise two daughters. The influences from the secularist culture pose a war that most people lack the enthusiasm to fight. Tolerance were told is the key to liberal utopia, and this of course is the only right way to think. Basically, all of us Jesus freaks who are too stupid to understand how the world really works, should turn a blind eye to the departing virtue of logic, and moral values. The idea that the left holds a monopoly on logic and moral values used to make me laugh. But in the wake of the war on terrorism something much bigger is being embarked upon.

I recently read a column out of the BBC. The headline read "Religious abuse at Guantanamo". Mark Falkoff, an attorney representing 13 of the detainees, was quoted as saying "The Government is trying to use religion to humiliate them". The inmates also complained of physical abuse, but apparently that wasn't important to the writer of this article. At least he didn't lay out any detailed accounts of physical abuse. The sole purpose of this article is to shame our military for exploiting the sensitivities of Allah loving terrorist. This is to be viewed as wrong, since no constitution loving liberal would violate the religious rights of another human being.

So there you have it, if women's wearing lacey under garments and tight t-shirts is torture by religious abuse; then every person in America has the right to sue Janet Jackson for exposing her breast during the Super Bowl half-time show, and the left has opened the door for government to ban pornography. Not that any of this would happen, and even most neo-cons wouldn't support it, but surely you can see the point I am trying to make.

If sexual exploitation is a right protected by our first amendment, why would we call it abuse to use sexual persuasion or humiliation as an interrogation tactic for terrorist prisoners? Never mind, we are actually supposed to call this torture.

As the liberals see it, sexual expression even on national television is a morally acceptable part of American culture. This is freedom. Jane Fonda told women to vote for their vaginas. The Hollywood machine tells us that success and happiness is equal to sexual exploration. And why not be promiscuous, you have abortion to rely on. The ACLU is on the record defending NAMBLA, even as Michael Jackson faces trial for molesting young boys. (Maybe the prosecution should charge the ACLU with being an accessory to his crimes.) Socialist Germany is now forcing women to work in brothels to keep their government benefits. And yes, liberals are outraged that sexuality would be used to extract information from terrorist prisoners! These are just a few of the fruits of a liberal intellect. Personally; I don't think what happened at Guantanamo was that bad. Our military would certainly prefer that to a slow beheading. And if Hollywood had footage of half dressed woman torturing prisoners with their breast, it would be sold as porn.

Could I get away with saying this so called "religious abuse" is a liberal double standard? Is Germany the model of American culture to come, and is that what my two daughters have to look forward to? God help us if we don't stop this. Tolerance is the foundation of persecution, and we have tolerated too much. The leftist monopoly on logic has once again cornered them on a very important moral issue. Or perhaps it's the lack of logic that always leads them here. Logic, morality, and intellect can not be use to support an agenda lacking in logic, morality, and intellect. The left is building it's utopia out of emotional dysfunctionalism and what ever heart felt perversion that will get them there. They will, as they always do, shoot themselves in the foot. For my daughters, I will embark upon helping them pull the trigger.

It is better to post a news article from a news source rather than start a vanity thread right off the bat. It is even better to post to an existing thread than to post a new thread unless there is some actual news content of some importance.

Not too bad. You're dealing with a tough crowd here, Freeprs. Just ask Sean Hannity.

No need to be sorry. The topics seem appropriate. You might try adding (Vanity) in the headline. I'm not really sure where the vanity/essay breakoint is.

The looming double standards in life certainly are troubling. Tolerance and free speech = forced conformity. Something's got to change.

Welcome to FR. We're really very nice people, but there are certain things that really peeve many folks on the forum. One of them is the posting of a vanity thread in the news forum. So here's a few helpful hints...

1. Stuff like this should really be posted in Bloggers/Personal. Even if you don't have an actual blog, this is "blog" material. The News/Activism forum (which is where you posted your thread) is really for sourced news articles and other such items.
2. Whenever you do post something other than a sourced news item in News/Activism, you should not only have a good reason for doing so (such as a prayer request, otherwise you'll be pilloried), you should also put "Vanity" in parentheses in the title of your thread.

Lighten up on the newbie. How about a private email to him politely explaining the issue. For crying out loud.

Yes, it is. It is posted in News/Activism It is neither.

Who cares? and does it really make a difference? Is the world going to end because it was posted where you think it shouldn't be? Why don't you just let them know where it should be posted and tell them how to do it instead of being a critical jerk. Yes, I called you a jerk. I get really tired of you people that can only find fault with an article for where it is posted, how something is spelled or whatever instead of looking at the article and judging its worth. If you don't want to read it get the heck off the thread and STFU. Thanks for listening and have a nice day!
