Liberalism is now the most reactionary force in our society.

Instead of Howard Dean they should have made David Spade (The Capitol One NO guy) Chairman.

"(Government is here to SERVE the people, providing SERVICES that the PRIVATE SECTOR cannot...which should be very, very FEW, IMHO.)"

I kind of think that government has only one legitimate purpose: protecting our individual freedom and personal liberty - anything else it does can't help but infringe that freedom and liberty in one way or another.

As far as the left's precious "common good" is concerned, in a free society there is only one common good: that all citizens have individual freedom and personal liberty.

I'm under the impression that our founding fathers pretty much believed the above, but I know that many freepers disagree...guess I will try to research it a little and try to get a clearer picture.

Liberalism: The twisted art of confusing facts, logic, and reality with victimization, emotion, and humanism.

We want the freedom to do anything we want while having no responsibility for it.

Liberalism;

If it feels good ,do it.

Eat soup with a fork.

Give you a permanent electric wheelchair when all you needed was temporary crutches.

Liberalism is the closed mind, thinking it is all encompassing in it's openness.

Liberalism is the closed mind, making sure others thoughts are not acceptable.

Liberalism is the closed mind, or else.

This is very good, and bears repeating.

Liberalism is a system of beliefs that manipulators can use to ensnare people who become their puppets. Your definition describes liberalism as it is, from the outside, but I think it more useful to analyze how it woks on puppets' minds. And the puppets don't see how they're being worked.
