Barrett 50 Cal sold in OHIO
me

Posted on 02/16/2005 3:35:47 PM PST by Michael121

There is a new gun store here in Ohio. You know the GW state.

They have for $9,000.00 of course an in stock full size, Barrett .50 Caliber military spec rifle.

The owner is also in a few weeks getting the new smaller rifle (in overall size not caliber) Barrett .50

Didn't know of any store willing to sell it to the public.

Store is named One Shot.

When seen up close you want one.

Fantastic weapon, I've heard it isnt great for accuracy due to an enormous muzzle flash however. Hell of a range though!

The best cure for such a desire is having to lug one (or a dummy of equivalent weight and overall dimensions + few pounds for the kit: ammo, binoculars etc.) around. Even M40A2 is for the people in top shape.

Civilians could buy Barrets long before there even was a "Mil Spec" one. You can't buy one in California because it meets the State's definition of an assault weapon.

No doubt the liberal belly achers will be saying every street thug will have one, however unrealistic that may be.

Why not?
I don't know of a gun store that wouldn't, though I can think of only a couple that had one in stock at one time or another.

Explain to me again, why the hell anybody needs a 50 caliber rifle? Don't give that "It's my constitutional right" crap - I know that - tell me what you're gonna use it for. Hunting? If you need a 50 to down a deer, you shouldn't even be in the woods.

This is one strictly for bragging rights, right after who has the biggest tires on his pickup.

There are long range competitions. Custom 50BMG would come handy.

Men want .50 caliber rifles because of feelings of inadequacy about their manhood. I thought everyone knew that.

I'd like one because the jerks in government want to ban it.

It's also used for target shooting like the AR-15 and M1 Garand.

Why are you of the opinion that I have to show a "need" for something in order to own it? Who are you to decide what I "need"? And who in the hell are you to demand authority over my life?

Maybe I just want one, ok? Maybe I like the idea of setting up chunks of steel and punching really big holes in them from a long ways away. Maybe I think it's fun.

The bottom line is that it's none of your damn business what I need, and it's none of your damn business what I want. It's my life. Live your own life, and stay out of mine!

And your problem is......?

Or should I say, "what the hell is your problem?"

I don't need 5 amateur radio transceivers.

I don't need my F-250 4x4.

And if I want to put godzilla size tires on my evil SUV (Ford Exploder)- that I don't really need- why should you be so bent about it?

Oh, almost forgot, I really only need one 12 gauge shotgun.

I own 4.

I think you need to go sit on the beach for awhile.

Have a couple of cool one's while you are there.

Sheesh.

If a 50 BMG seems too big to you, at what caliber/power factor would you feel comfortable for others to own?

Bragging Rights! You're Damned Right!

It is also good as prescribed under the Second Amendment to assure the "domestic tranquility" ... who's gonna mess with the .50 cal??

If ever need be , in case of a tyrannical govt, the owner of that gun will be a true hero to America.
