UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- The Moroccan mission to the United Nations has announced it arrested six U.N. peacekeeping soldiers in Congo accused of sexually abusing local girls and discharged the contingent's commander.

Fred Eckhard, the U.N. secretary-general's spokesman, on Monday said the announcement over the weekend showed "the Morrocan authorities attach as much importance to eradicating sexual abuse within U.N. peacekeeping missions as does the U.N."

"The mission hopes that the vigorous and public reaction of Morocco will serve as an example and that other troop contributing countries will follow," he added.

There have been more than 150 allegations of sexual exploitation of girls as young as 13 by U.N. peacekeepers in Congo.

Annan last Wednesday urged the Security Council to add at least 100 military police to the peacekeeping mission in Congo to help prevent sex abuse by the U.N. forces.

Eckhard said other measures had been taken, including improved surveillance around U.N. military camps, a curfew and the shuttering of local stores where soldiers interacted with locals.

Allegations of abuse first surfaced in 2004 and the U.N. Office of Internal Oversight Services said abuse by peacekeepers was ongoing.

According to last month's report by the U.N. watchdog agency, peacekeepers regularly had sex with Congolese women and girls, usually in exchange for food or small sums of money.

Walking in the trails of Tutsi terrorists and their Hutus counterparts, UN (Oops,KAAR or Kofi Annan African Republic) troops in Eastern Congo are also involved in the sex scandal. Please write to secretary@state.gov to urge Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to stop fueling money to KAAR (or UN) and Rwanda, with its Tutsis and Hutus acting against our American values of freedom and decency. Please no more compassion policy towards Rwanda (This is no longer Monica Lewinsky's boyfriend's administration). Let's rock those folks to Stone Age till they learn decency and respect for human rights. Let's think about Congo's Home Security being violated by those same Tutsi terrorists and their Hutu gaming partners.

Please no more ...arp, max, ...eat something needs reply this. Hey, you'll see the same guys under fake names coming up with ideas against our ideals of freedom to be brought to the uncivilized regimes such as Rwanda's and KAAR's.

Hey you...ffy & ...something 59, go back to decency which is the fabric of America. Remember this is a conservative and intelligent forum. Don't use that low language and poor English. Speak it high and decently.

Again, those with corrupt language need not answer my postings. No more max something ! Congo's Homeland Security needs to be preserved ! Write to secretary@state.gov and express our conservative ideas to stop those Tutsi genociders and their gaming Hutus associates. Starve in Rwanda those folks to death so they'll learn not raping Congolese women across the border. No Taxpayers' money to Rwanda and the UN !
