[snip] Michael Knight, the student who filed the complaint against [Professor Hans-Hermann Hoppe at UNLV] said [snip]: "He was stereotyping homosexuals -- we don't have any family values; we don't know how to manage our money; we basically just blow all our money immediately -- that was my take on it," said Knight, who is gay. "When the door closes and the lecture began, he needs to make sure he is remaining as politically correct as possible."

To prevent duplication, please do not alter the heading. Thanks.
"...we basically just blow all our money..."
This guy is confused.
I'm sorry. I just could't resist. The quotation was so incredible. I'll be good next time.
Dear Michael,
I don't care about your private sexual life; however, the gay movement has made sexual orientation a demographic, just like single, white female is a demographic, just as senior citizen is a demographic.
Economists as well as politicians and marketers use demographics as an analytical tool. You've made yourself fair game for anyone to study and report on your activities, attitudes, habits, behaviors, etc.
The fact that you don't like what demographic studies say about your particular group is too bad. My suggestion is that you lead a movement to de-classify yourselves as a demographic. Quit your whining and good luck
The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada, who is representing Hoppe . . .
Is that even possible in today's world? Only a fully indoctrinated, diseased mind would think this.
He should find reputable representation. The ACLU is an anti-Christian, tradition smashing, leftist organization.
Hoppe is totally innocent and does not need this group to free him from the punishment meeted out by a weak and politically correct administration.
A pox on this school and on the ACLU...they deserve each other.
The ACLU is an anti-Christian, tradition smashing, leftist organization . . .
. . . in many of their 'official' positions. But not all of their members agree with those positions. And at any rate they've recently defended Rush Limbaugh and the chairman of the Republican Party of Summit County OH.
Thanks ;)
Hmmm...I always thought Hasslehoff was a little bit...odd. :P
I am equally bothered that conservatives have been so eager to discuss Churchill but relatively unininterested in helping Hoppe and others. Just take a look at the mountain of Churchill threads compared to the molehill of Hoppe threads. In any case, thanks for bumping.

"When the door closes and the lecture began, he needs to make sure he is remaining as politically correct as possible." Michael Knight
It would seem to me that Mr. Knight is taking the wrong lessons away from his classrooms - when did "political correctness" begin to trump factual information? If Mr. Knight is offended by facts, he faces a very rough road in the work world. And, I, for one, would be very hesitant to hire anyone who cannot face facts without getting his feelings hurt.
"I don't think it's possible to check your beliefs at the door, but to represent those as your beliefs is critical," he said. "I view what is said in the classroom as factual stuff, so to come out of there with things that aren't factual, it's a disservice to students." Henry Schuck
Most of the really good teachers I've know took great pains to challenge their students to THINK for themselves, not to just accept everything presented to them as absolute truth.
It is unfortunate that these two students are so poorly educated, despite having college educations. It is even more unfortunate that a professor who makes a sincere effort to teach is being penalized for his pains.
Excellent!
Window dressing!!!! A necesary, periodic, and carefully contrived undertaking so they can have a token conservative client to hold high for all to see...tax benefit implications seem involved here as well.
Moreover, my understanding is that not one member of the ACLU Executive board has ever been (A) a boy or girl scout, (B) a member of the Armed Forces, or (C) a member of any Christian church. While the foregoing isn't a condemnation it does serve as a guide to a devious strategy which is all too obvious....e.g. attack on the boy scouts and Christmas. I think most reasonable people on FR and elsewhere would agree.
While the ACLU may have some attorneys in their employ who are conservative, on balance it remains a hot house of self serving, litigious lawyers having no regard for worthy American traditions or basic civic responsibilites.
I do not know the details of the Hoppe case, thanks for posting and I will inform myself.
I do know that in academic circles "gays" are untouchable. One cannot say a word against them. One cannot even point out the public health issues around AIDS and hepatitis.
Oh....and Hoppe will be the featured guest on O'Reilly on Thursday.
