HOUMA, La. (AP) Young children allegedly received audiocassette tapes with racially charged language and explicit lyrics at a Monday-night Mardi Gras parade, the president of the local NAACP chapter said.

Actually after some thought, the kid probably got the tape on his own or from a friend, and and when dad caught him, he blamed the people at Mardt Gras.
Why do people take their kids to this parade? Isn't this an adult event?

Mardi Gras parades are usually family events. They are lots of fun with bands, horses, floats throwing beads etc. The parades go through residential neighborhoods all over the city and South Louisiana and are definitely family oriented. The wild party in the French Quarter is a different story.
