I have been wondering the same thing. I have never gotten anything from the Navy without a formal request. Neither has my husband who spent 23 years in the Navy.

I retired from the Air Force in 1985 and I received my field-level personnel records at that time. So far they have never sent me anything except for a retirement check each month, a periodic notification when my retirement pay changes and a 1099-R at the end of each tax year.
