When I processed out of the Army, we were told that we had to take the DD214 to the County Recorder and have it recorded.

What's the date of that legislation? It mentions identity theft, something that was not common in 1971 when I registered with the County Clerk in NY. When I was separated, the briefer stated it was required. I think at the time it had something to do with the local draft board and also as a locater in case of recall.

In '69, the draft went to a lottery system based on birthdays. Many of my friends wrote me that my birthday came up #365. I was already overseas.

In fact I had to register for the draft when I got out because I was 17 when I enlisted.

I hope the government has several different people watching Kerry's files, with all the rats you need back-up observers. Ideally the government has copies of all his records elsewhere and when Kerry thinks he has sufficently coerced others to change his records for him and signs a release, the true ones will be reinserted...LOL
