Inter-Condi-Nental Visits the New Germany

AP
Inter-Condi-nental: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is visiting major capitals in the Europe and Middle East on her first trip since taking office. Condoleezza Rice, the new United States Secretary of State, who often played shadow Secretary during her role in the first Bush administration as Bush's National Security Advisor, is in Berlin on Friday patching up American-German relations in a 40-minute meeting with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. On Thursday, our colleague Severin Weiland caught up by phone with Kasten Voigt, the coordinator for German-US relations in the Foreign Ministry.

Voigt said he's hopeful that the Bush administration has an evolving view of European countries. "The US government has, in the meantime, figured out that it needs partners in order to solve regional conflicts. [comment: The US has been seeking the cooperation of it's partners from the beginning - we have not just now figured this out] The European Union and Germany, as its most important member [a bit arrogant here eh??], could play an important role. [but choses not to] During her brief visit in Berlin Friday, which sets the stage for President George W. Bush's visit on Feb. 23, Rice and Schroeder will discuss an increased German engagement in Iraq. Germany won't send any troops -- nor does Washington expect that -- but it will provide aid for rebuilding the civilian infrastructure as well as expertise and resources for establishing Iraq's justice and interior ministries. My 2¢'s about the UN?

Neal Boortz has the right idea- kick them off US soil, plop them down in Haiti, and tell them, "when you get this straightened out, give us a call..."

Moreover:

--Sex abuse charges rock UN in Congo-
-- Interesting this is being posted today. Talk show host Dennis Prager had the Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Doree Gold, on his show today. Mr. Gold has just written a book about the UN called the Tower of Babble(i think this was the title). Some of the things he was saying about the UN were unbelievable.

--TV campaign urging: Kick U.N. out of U.S.-
"I say we just give the entire country of Haiti to the UN."--or move them to Zimbabwe or another country in Africa. Let them see what the really do for the world.

--UN knew of Saddam's oil-for-food thefts: BBC-
The sooner we resign from this corrupt organization and kick them off our soil, the better.
