Could someone please tell Teddy Kennedy and the other malcontents on Capitol Hill that we chose our leader last November, it isn't John Kerry and it sure isn't Kennedy and the other partisans who are busy working against our nation's best interests ("Condi's Inquisitors," Editorial, Jan. 20).

Our military presence in Iraq will be over when it is safe to withdraw.

We gave President Bush the job of leading the country, and we don't need a self-appointed whiner like Kennedy second-guessing him and making self-aggrandizing demands at this very serious time in our history.

The country needs the cooperation of all Americans during these times.

It doesn't need the fringe left trying to sabotage what we are doing in the Middle East.

How much longer do we have to read Kennedy's rhetoric?

He equates the war in Iraq to the quagmire of Vietnam.

The situations couldn't be more different.

In Iraq, only two years into the war there already has been a democratic election.

Shouldn't this be something that would make the liberals of America proud?

I guess other people's freedom just doesn't cut it with liberals.

I saw a quote on Fox News from Kennedy last night. It was one of those text quotes with a profile photo they put on screen. Kennedy said something to the effect that while elections were good, they wouldn't do anything to combat the anti-Americanism and hostility to our troops.

And I just thought, "Finally, something I can agree with Ted Kennedy on! He's been through three decades of elections and his anti-Americanism has only increased!"

I am wondering if Uncle Teddy and Kerry both have a secret hatred of Jews. Our efforts against Islamo-Facism is benefiting Israel and it is my theory that what is really driving this irrational opposition to our efforts to promote democracy is that Uncle Teddy and Kerry oppose anything that benifits Israel. I wonder if this is the underlying motivation and I wonder how many in the DemoncRATic Party harbor a secret hatred of Israel? I saw Evan Bayh on some Sunday morning show. On the whole, he sounded pretty rational, saying that it was time for the Democrats to end their partisan bickering and start supporting American interests (not his exact words).

But then he blew it when he explained why he voted against Secretary of State Rice's confirmation. He said the reason for his nay vote was that someone needed to be held accountable for how things have turned out in Iraq.

Senator Bayh: In the election held a few months ago, President Bush and his administration were "held accountable" -- and they passed with flying colors. Get over it.
