It's unclear whether Michael Crook's only goal in life is to provoke anger and disgust. In a letter to this newspaper last year, he suggested that older people should be barred from driving on public roads. That notion prompted a slew of letters defending the rights of senior citizens.
Now, aided by the Internet, Crook has jabbed more sticks into the ribs of all Americans. He claimed to have found a camera that a serviceman lost at a football game in Philadelphia. Crook offered to return the camera, in exchange for $1,000. If that wasn't bad enough, Crook didn't even have the camera.
Then Crook declared through his Web site and in a letter to this newspaper that he does not support American troops fighting for their country. Crook calls anyone who joins the military a "leech" and insists they should pay for their own housing, medical care and other benefits.
A number of letters about Crook were published Sunday and more are being excerpted today on the Readers Page.
If Crook is sincere in his statements, he should think again about criticizing those who volunteer to serve his country. If he's only looking for attention, this editorial and today's letters represent the end of this newspaper's interest in him.
"If he's only looking for attention, this editorial and today's letters represent the end of this newspaper's interest in him."
Now that's refreshing. Yay Post-Standard, where ever you are!
Nah he's getting all kinds of press interviews have you seen how he manages his site comments go on then disappear Don't they call that censorship? But then again he has his opinion and ONLY his counts by his reason of thinking!
