Why? The US has been releasing Gitmo detainees over the years. Back in 2003 the US released 27 under the premise of
"..in consultation with other senior U.S. government officials, determined that these detainees either no longer posed a threat to U.S. security or no longer required detention by the United States."

The Pentagon says they were freed after the UK government promised they would not be a threat to the national security of the US or any of its allies.

Usually you need things like evidence to actually hold people. I would guess that there is none. Real shame that a government can't just hold people, right? Just keep that in mind the next time the Democrats control the White House.

Every last move these people make is going to be closely followed, in the hopes that they make contact with their bretheren, which will then expose more of Al Qaeda's operations in Britain. It's all part of a subtle, sly operation to emasculate these blighters...which has prevented any September 11th style attacks on this country.

They will go back to bomb making classes at the local mosque. Hopefully, the British police will plant undercover cops in their midst and prevent tragedy. It will come to IRA type bombings, though, and soon.
