Swiftvet author wants Kerry's Senate seat
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | January 25, 2005

Jerome Corsi, co-author of the Swiftboat veterans' book that challenged Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam record, plans to vie for the former presidential candidate's Senate seat in 2008.

Corsi, who lives in New Jersey, told the Boston Herald he will establish residency in Boston this spring.

"I'm going to do it,'' said Corsi. "I've got serious political aspirations now.''

A WorldNetDaily columnist and author of an upcoming WND book, "Atomic Iran," Corsi was the co-author with John O'Neill of "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry," which became a New York Times No. 1 best-seller.

He told the Herald his "strong first choice" is to run as a Republican, but he would run as an independent if the party does not back him.

His plans won't change if Kerry decides not to run.

"It may be time for a conservative movement to take hold in Massachusetts,'' Corsi said.

Corsi, who has a PhD from Harvard University, is managing partner of U.S. Financial Marketing Group. He told the Boston paper he will sell his interest in the company.

Kerry spokesman David Wade would not comment on Corsi, saying Kerry is focused on his Senate work, the Herald reported.

State Democratic chairman Phil Johnston spoke to the paper, however.

"I know Massachusetts will not welcome a candidate whose calling card is a disturbing track record of slandering Catholics, the pope, Jews and Vietnam veterans," Johnston said. "Carpetbaggers spreading lies and smears are not welcome in our state.''

Corsi has apologized for comments he posted on FreeRepublic.com on various subjects, but he insisted they were "not meant as serious expressions of my views and opinions,'' but "meant to be satirical and provocative. ... It's like saying Shakespeare is responsible for something one of his characters said.''

"It may be time for a conservative movement to take hold in Massachusetts,''

It`s been time for the past 40 years.

"Wake up Poodle boy, you`ve had a bad dream"

"Oh Teresa, why why won`t let go away?"

"Now now poodle boy, tomorrow I will buy you a brand new bicycle and a shiny helmet, and it will make it allll better"

"Thank you thank you mummy!"

"I'm going to do it,'' said Corsi. "I've got serious political aspirations now.''

One question. Where do we send the campaign contributions?

Do you happen to know Jerome Corsi's 'handle' on FR?

The Bay State has a RINO governor, and a no-guts back-treading GOP. The last thing the Cabot and Lodge brand of Republicans will condone is a no-account carpetbagger commoner to take control of their political organization.

I'll bet a loaf of brown bread Consi will be forced to run as an independent. I doubt he will prevail, BUT he can bring a good dose of self-esteem to the girlie-man conservatives hiding in the basements of their homes there.

Please. Mitt Romney may be a lot of things, and he sure isn't Jesse Helms, but he is by no means a RINO.

No disrespect intended, but you don't know what you are talking about. I live in Massachusetts and you don't. Either that, or you do live here and are not paying attention. You are coming to the "simple" intellectual conclusion that there is no way Mitt Romney could win in Massachusetts unless he is a RINO, and that just is not true.

And, I will be looking up Jerry Corsi to see if he needs any help on his campaign. Organization and financial support is what Republicans need in Massachusetts, not their "Girly-Man" esteem bolstered.

I particularly liked the quote:
"I know Massachusetts will not welcome a candidate whose calling card is a disturbing track record of slandering Catholics, the pope, Jews and Vietnam veterans," Johnston said. "Carpetbaggers spreading lies and smears are not welcome in our state.''

Well heck, they welcomed John Kerry, didn't they? You gotta love Democrats badmouthing Carpetbaggers...the original founders and best illustrated by Hilliary Clinton.

Good idea. We can use them to plug the leaks in the Big Dig.

Concerning Mitt, I agree with rlmorel in that although he's no Ronald Reagan, he seems to be when you line him up with the rest of the hacks in Mass.

Did Corsi slander Vietnam Vets? Or were his comments directed at that apostate Catholic and anti-American
war protester and LIAR HAnoi John Kerry Who betrayed his
country as a Naval Officer in the Naval Reserves ,still
obligated to conduct himself as a Naval Officer?
Mass. disgraces itself by its' pleasure in the obscene and
immoral-by its rejection of God and the very foundations
laid by men like Old Ben Franklin (no stranger to Mass.)
who recognized "Except the Lord build the House they labor
in vain that build it." A biblical truth th eold Deist
firmly believed. A truth Mass. has rejected politically.

I see the upcoming Kerry campaign as a rerun of Daschle's losing campaign. Both have wives that are political liabilities, both have iffy political careers, and both have real estate problems.

The joke in Mass was that at the start of his political career, the calculating Kerry established so many residences in different districts---- to best position himself for a Congressional run----that he needed a real estate agent, not a campaign manager.

Yes, and hopefully he will not concentrate all of his campaigning in the Boston Area. Kerry thinks that are IS MA. If you contact him tell him he will have tremendous support from western mass, meaning Springfield, Northampton and even the Pittsfield area. A lot of people all thru that area, especially the rural areas, are......and feel.......very ignored!

HEY, whatchu talking bout, we're living on THE EDGE out here, and fighting hard to break the CRUST over the putrid pie.

Actually, the population admires the Gov., and the Kennedy/Kerry mystique is beginning to crack as more media is available and the Sorry Senators keep shooting themselves in the foot(s). Give us some help with the circuit court judges and dirty pols, and maybe we can get somewhere.

"....circuit court judges and dirty pols...."

Little this patriot can do to help you trap and burn dirty political Rats and RINO's. Geography doesn't permit it.

However, some in-your-face residential picketing and leafeating of local gutter slime plays well in the media to open the eyes of the political challenged shepple in your community.

Start local. Tap the MA FReeper list. Your efforts will catch on, and duplicated in other communities.

Revive the '76 Revolutionary Committees of Communication, and com with active types in other towns and cities. Avoid the jawboners. Their good for nothing.

Rats hate the light of day, as do pretender Republicans.

Do for a five year organizing campaign, and you can make Massachusetts mirror its historical beginnings as the beacon of our Republic!!!

You knows this already, but reading that others know it as well, is a good starting point!!!

Sorry, it was 'Committees of Correspondence/ I was thinking about. They were a very effective anti-Tory pro-Continental Congress force throughout the Revolutionary War.

you are correct, sir.

did you see the HBO special, the BBC produced it, called "Dirty War"? It was just on...a docu-drama about a dirty bomb detonated in downtown London...excellent...

worth buying HBO for a month just to see this...

should remind people that we are not just having a game of 'words will hurt you'...
