The U.S. State Department has begun a media blitz to remind Afghans of the $25 million bounty for al-Qaeda's chief
anyway we can start a fund?
Let's not forget to remind the Soldier of Fortune and Executive Outcome types of this as well.
I don't believe that those people have any concept of how much money that is.
They ought to be sending in--and protecting--Christian missionaries by the thousands. These poor, benighted people need to know what the alternative is.
I agree, kill the evil leaders and send in missionaries to convert, some have never heard "The Good Word"
The idiot leftist Meher laughs at increasing the bounty for these creeps, saying, "Oh, right, an Afghan farmer will turn him in for 25 million, but not for 15 million. The average Afghan farmer won't lift a finger for less than 25 million."
Very funny. If you're an idiot.
What is left out is the calculus of mercenaries. If we increase the fund high enough, we might entice a mercenary group to make the investment necessary --- and take the risks necessary --- to go in and get him.
I'd donate one or two hundred to such a fund (if I believed in the people who were collecting the money).
This guy is NOT in Afghanistan/Pakistan. He's in a safer place - Iran or Syria.
it may grow larger than the tsunami relief fund
In a big way, I agree. People in Afghanistan and Pakistan may not have any concept of how much money it is.
BUT THE PRESS DOES.
What this might do is get attention. If the American public collected a ridiculous amount of money, the media would be talking about it.
I think it could apply an intense amount of pressure on governments and people.
just had to post sumptin-haven't for awhile....

Exactly!
If the American public raised $500 million, something would happen. We would have ownership.
We all worried about where our Tsunami and 911 money went to, right? Yes, because it was ours.
If we created our own reward, we would demand results.
Am I the only one that is skeptical of this? I hate to say it but I think it is basically a media ploy to let people know that we are still trying to capture him.
That Buzzy Krongard, the disgruntled FORMER CIA chief (who had some very suspicious ties to the "put" options on shares of United, American and certain re-insurers just before 9/11--just so we know who we are dealing with) has been getting some serious press, e.g. the WND story has been getting a lot of attention:
"Three years after the attack on New York's World Trade Center, the manhunt for Osama bin Laden has failed to produce the world's most wanted terrorist, and, according to the former No. 3 man at the CIA, that's just fine.
Former Central Intelligence Agency executive, A.B. "Buzzy" Krongard, has told the London Times that letting the al-Qaida leader run free may actually make the world a safer place."
Start the fund and tell us the details.
I agree. Look at bin Laden's pre-election tape. He didn't look like he was living in cave to me.
I believe Oliver North has been saying same thing.
