DENISE "Danny" Brown had an edge of anger in her voice. "I'm fighting for these kids, you have to understand," she said on the telephone from the California house owned by her father, Lou Brown.

I had only caught the angry tone previously when she talked about O.J. Simpson, who everyone in this world believes was the man who almost beheaded her sister Nicole and slashed her friend Ronald Goldman to death.

But she was angry with me now because she thought I was trying to dig up something on her niece, Sydney Simpson. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that Sydney Simpson, 19, the daughter of Nicole and O.J., allegedly got into a brawl at a Miami basketball game and assaulted an arresting cop.

Sydney has previously called 911 on her father. She has been involved in traffic accidents and shows dangerous signs of being unable to manage her anger.

What do you expect?

Here is a man, this O.J. Simpson, who quite obviously doesn't have much time for his kids — in fact, zero time. But that can be explained.

As well as having a 3-stroke handicap at golf, which takes a lot of doing, he has another big weight on his head.

"I will pursue, as my primary goal in life, to get the killer or killers who slaughtered Nicole and Mr. Goldman," Simpson said after being cleared of the murders. He added he was looking for some Colombian hit men.

So between maintaining a 3 handicap and searching for Colombians, what time would you have for your children?

I wonder if, from time to time, the court that decided (in their wisdom) to give the killer of Nicole Brown the job of raising her children, ever wonders how the heck they're doing.

How the courts could give those 2 kids to the monster who butchered their mother is beyond me.

The 'assault' on the officer consisted of slapping him on the right hand, according to the police report.

Government entities have no compassion or flexibility. That is why the founding fathers never envision the government getting involved in "charity".

Charity should be left to the churches (secular organizations are more intent on receiving their salaries than helping people). For instance, the Red Cross should be stripped of the Cross as a symbol.

Undoubtedly, O.J. has threatened his kids with the same treatment he gave their mother. A few beers, anger over kids' everyday rebelliousness/whatever, and out it comes. Probably more than once. He can't be tried again, so he described in excruciating detail exactly what he did.

I don't know why she or her brother would ever want to be around their father considering he murdered their mother. I guess they are alright with it. I would make him pay if he was my father.
