EU Socialist Manifesto
New American ^ | September 20, 2004 | Christopher S. Bentley

In the words of the Declaration of Independence, we “are endowed by [our] Creator with certain unalienable rights,” such as life, liberty and property. Moreover, to “secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” That is, our rights come from God, not from government or rulers. Government is the servant, not the master. This is so fundamental that it cannot be overstated.

In polar opposite contrast regarding rights, the EU Constitution states in Article I-7: “These rights shall be exercised in accordance with the conditions and limits defined by this Constitution and by the measures adopted to give it effect.” It adds in Article II-52: “Any limitation on the exercise of the rights and freedoms recognized by this Charter must be provided for by law....” In other words, in the Eurocrats’ worldview, rights are “recognized” by the “Charter,” meaning they come from government. And, those rights may be limited as the rulers deem necessary.

Starting with this fatally flawed premise about rights, the EU Constitution fraudulently claims, in Article I-3, that it will “promote peace ... and the well-being of its peoples,” by offering “its citizens an area of freedom ... where competition is free and undistorted.” Such cosmetically appealing objectives are the preamble packaging for a mammoth 300-page socialist manifesto that follows. If ratified, the EU Constitution would regiment Europeans’ lives down to the most private levels.

In Article II-21, it states “any discrimination based on any ground such as ... sexual orientation shall be prohibited.” Churches and organizations that teach homosexuality is wrong will find themselves in violation of EU law. Landlords, who refuse to rent to homosexual “couples,” will be prosecuted. (For similar developments already happening, see “The Anti-Christian EU” on page 7.)

Article II-23 empowers the EU government to interfere in employer-employee relationships, by enforcing measures that ensure “equality between men and women ... in all areas, including employment, work and pay.” It also calls for “the maintenance or adoption of measures providing for specific advantages in favor of the underrepresented sex.” That would mean affirmative action for the continent.

The EU seeks to involve itself in family matters. In its declaration regarding Article III-2, the Constitution proclaims that “the Union will aim in its different policies to combat all kinds of domestic violence.”

Regarding welfare and regulatory measures, the EU leaves no stone unturned. Article II-34 “recognizes and respects the entitlement to social security benefits and social services ... [for] everyone residing and moving legally within the European Union.” Article II-35 declares: “Everyone has the right of access to preventive health care....” According to Article II-37, “a high level of environmental protection and the improvement of the quality of the environment must be integrated into the policies of the Union and ensured in accordance with the principle of sustainable development.”

Article III-193 proposes to “develop international measures to preserve and improve the quality of the environment and the sustainable management of global natural resources, in order to ensure sustainable development; [and] promote an international system based on stronger multilateral cooperation and good global governance.” That would mean the management of all the planet’s resources in a world government under the United Nations.

Maybe I'm misreading all of this from a Biblical standpoint, but I see this as the genesis of the East vs. West confrontation spoken about in Revelations.

If memory serves me right the EU Constitution runs 333 pages and was written by lawyers FOR lawyers - not for the common people.

Compare the "value" of those 333 pieces of paper against our one page Declaration of Independence.

Fascinating ! We endured a cold war for over 40 years, and,as it ended, Europe surrendered !

All these "noble" goals will come with a brutal price: enforcement. Those who refuse to share the ever-growing burden will "need re-education",coupled with collective compulsory labor, compulsory military service,etc.,etc.

In the end Old Europe will become Fortress Europa-jackboots,pogroms,and all - but armed with French nukes, developed with American assistance.

That would mean the management of all the planet’s resources in a world government under the United Nations.

Time to get out of the UN now, unless we want to be pawns of the EU.

And so why did the french Catholics expel and kill all the Protestants before the Enlightenment again? So they could be a Christless nation I guess. Go figure.

"Time to get out of the UN now, unless we want to be pawns of the EU."

I disagree. The United States holds a position on the security council. The veto we hold in the U.N. is an invaluable weapon in the struggle against socialism.

If we back down, we surrender a big bargaining chip. We won't be pawns of the E.U. if they control resources. we still have a big influence in the Middle East, and both of the Americas. It is our duty to mankind to stand against the E.U. we should pray for the U.K. and other European states whose governments are more friendly to us. Pray that they will not succumb to this Confederacy of Socialists. The European Union, like the Soviet Union before it, will fall.

And you made a good point with the power of our veto. I never looked it that way.

I've been saying that all along. If we weren't in the UN, it would give them that much more power to unite against us. If we think they're moving toward a one-world government now, think how much faster they would move if we weren't there. They would strong-arm other, smaller countries that are disposed to be friendly towards us into throwing up all sorts of obstacles against us.

<< Maybe I'm misreading all of this from a Biblical standpoint, but I see this as the genesis of the East vs. West confrontation spoken about in Revelations. >>

Why not? I'm with you.

I spend more than 99% of my time abroad, am continuously exposed to it and can attest that the Euro-peon Neo-Soviet's hesperophobic anti-Americanism is no less froth and foam-flecked that is that of the more visible barbarians -- it's just [A little] better hidden. And where Euro-peons are concerned our worrisome collective denial is stronger.

As the recent actions of the french and german governments make clear, though, only the Biblical basis of the individual tattered remnants of the rapidly-being-swept-aside [By the new manifest] Laws of the Brussels-based Neo-Soviet's satellite states keeps the increasingly squalidly-secular EU -- in some quarters, from being moved from the "one-time aquaintance" column into that for ememies.

[Although not here, I've already long-ago moved it]
