Too bad columnists cant be Zotted. Piece of advise Mr Macomber, DON'T break the law and threaten Police. Obey them. that way no one gets tasered. Besides, I hear it is a damn sight better than the rubber coated bullets. Or would you rather those???

- 50000 volts
- less than 1/10th of an amp
- ZERO deaths - 100% recovery
- Crime rate decline due to the use of tasers: PRICELESS

there was nothing heroic about arresting hundreds of people for standing more than four abreast on the sidewalk That's true, but that's not why the cops were heroes - they were heroes for being willing to tolerate the smell of a mob of doped up, screaming leftists in the line of duty.

At first I thought this was a zot thread with a creative alteration of the headline by the mods. :-)

Realistically, 50,000 volts may not be enough; to ensure compliance without damage 100,000 volts would probably serve better as early Tesla experiments show clearly that voltages in this range pulse harmlessly along the surface; in other words we can tickle them into submission, although that isn't very hard to do to a 15 year old already.

All the yak about voltage aside, we start to get a picture that someone here deeply resents authority and is convinced that our government has somehow invented the war on terrorism. We will keep a sharp eye out for your byline from now on so as not to miss all this important commentary.

I have to disgree with this person. If you act in a violent way you should be met with violent force..PERIOD
They used to have to shoot these guys and now there is a safer way to handle them with less police action.
Send the person to CA where they have now placed limits on how many flashlight beatings an officer can administer.

SO WHY DOES THIS keep happening? 'Cuz of the Rodney King thing. Tasing doesn't look as bad on video tape as wrasslin' a suspect.
Also 'cuz of affirmative action--a 98lb female mini-cop has no choice but to shoot or taser a suspect, so it has to be department policy so she doesn't get her feelings hurt
