NBC poll and Chevy Chase Tirade Highlight Secret to Bush's Success - (Scarborough gets it! Boffo!)

But they won't be talking about those stories around the watercooler today. Instead, chances are good that many more will discussing Christmas plans, this weekend's football games, and former "Saturday Night Live" star Chevy Chase's tirade at the Kennedy Center.

But it was Mr. Chase who lost control of just about everything this side of his bowels when he delivered a broadside against President Bush.

He started by calling the President a "dumb f_ _ _."

Hillary Clinton may win the White House, but it will be a historical accident because there was no one with her name recognition to run against her, just like Bill Clinton was an aberration because Ross Perot siphoned off so many Republican votes.

None of that changes the fact that the Democratic party is in a state of permanent, irreversible decline because an increasing majority of Americans loath the Democrats' positions on all the major issues. No amount of spin and packaging can change that.

The problem faced by the democratic party is the fact that their hard core base is consumed and driven by neurotic or psychological 'issues'. Deep in their heart of hearts, (although many will never admit it even to themselves), they are at best ambivalent on the issue of who actually comes out on top of the war on terror.

I think it's a joke, i.e. Chevy Chase and Bill Murray are interchangeable.

That's not true though--Bill Murray is actually funny at times.
