The Wall Street Journal The most credible aspect of Mr. Reed's book is that it was not written with Whitewater in mind.
He wrote the book Compromised Compromised is the true story of the Faustian pact that Bill Clinton made as governor of Arkansas. It tells how his unbridled political ambitions and his pledge to create jobs for Arkansas led him to compromise his ideals in exchange for support for his presidential candidacy in 1992.
By selling out politically to the Reagan-Bush administration, by giving the Agency free rein to operate a secret training base near the tiny western Arkansas town of Mena, and by looking the other way as Arkansas factories turned out untraceable weapons parts for the Nicaraguan Contra "freedom fighters," the young governor helped create an operation that laundered untold millions of dollars and that enriched Clinton's political friends and helped finance his campaign fund.
Looking back on it, Reed reminds me of David Fairie from Oliver Stone's portrayal in "JFK."

i loved that book i so wanted clinton to go down
but if all that was true which i doubt it would have been devasting to this country

I read (and own) Compromised, and Reed's latter-day activities tend to erode my evaluation of his credibility.
If what Reed wrote were true, (considering the people he wrote it about) I would be surprised to learn that he was still alive. (Or, was that the point of your query/vanity?)
(Of course, I've always wondered if the alleged auto-sears the BATF used as their excuse for assaulting the Waco compound were manufactured by Park-O-Meter...)
Sounds like "compromised" is alive and well with DHS and the Cmpean-Ramos case.

I too, have become bewildered by how deep Terry has been buried in the past. I have his book and read it when it first came out. His links to the full list of people involved in the combination of CIA, Iran=Contra coverup, including Col. Oliver North, the Bushes, Clinton et al was intriguing. He pretty well described Barry Seal’s involvement and I wonder if the upcoming movie MENA will give any credit to Terry or his claims. Even if it was fiction, it’s description of how players become “compromised” when they start out trying to act patriotically, is the lesson I learned from the book. Maybe not the whole truth, but certainly dangerously close.
Since this book was written, the country has had numerous actions that could be considered devastaing. For one certainly 9/11, the lie that we still live with. Obamacare, nee Romneycare, nee Hillarycare, and John Roberts, the Bush appointee and his infamous midnight flip-flop. The election of America’s first black, and recently selected President without history or ‘papers’. Then there was the election of Trump against the hatred of both the RNC AND the DNC. The post-election accomodation that seems to have been reached. A summary of major devastation....need more
