Spin central
Stunned Democrats got their lunch handed to them last month, and incoming Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has a plan to ensure it won't happen again.
On Monday, Nevada's own Sen. Reid announced the creation of a new Democratic communications "war room" in the Capitol to ensure his party's message reverberates beyond the nation's urban centers and the leftist Northeast corridor.
(Ironic, that to run Democratic Spin Central, Sen. Reid tapped former aides to two berliberal Eastern Senate Democrats, Ted Kennedy and Charles Schumer, who couldn't get elected dog catcher in any "red" state.)
Beginning in January, a 15-member "rapid response" message team will publicize Democratic activities and perspectives -- Don't The New York Times and CNN already handle this? -- and develop outlets through Internet news organizations and bloggers.
"As Democratic leader," Sen. Reid said, "I will ensure that all Americans ... know the values and principles for which Democrats stand."
Well, then! We eagerly await a hearty defense of the popular core principles that have characterized the Democrats for seven decades: A hostility toward the notion of personal responsibility and an embrace of higher taxes, the redistribution of wealth, the welfare state, and an ever-expanding federal bureaucracy.
We know what those values and principles are (and I would add promotion of gay marriage and abortion and demonization of traditional religious believers to the list in the final paragraph of the article), we just don't like them.
Good, I hope they do manage to get their "message" out, voter know their message, all to well and have rejected their message and will continue to do so. The only time democrats win is when they manage to run on something other than their message, such as personal attacks against their oponent etc.
Also, abortion on demand including infanticide, gay marriage nationwide, suicidal political correctness, drivers licenses for illegal aliens, etc.
P.S. - send money. Always send money. It's always about money.
