A request to Neil Cavuto... JacK Welch, GE, NBC, media bias
My fertile mind ^ | 11/21/04 | Bert

Posted on 11/21/2004 7:55:54 AM PST by bert

Hi Neil…….

I am a sometime viewer who can’t see you regularly at 4:00, but do watch when able. I realized recently that you commonly do something I would love to do…….have a chat with Jack Welch.

I have spent considerable time online over the last 4 years cussing and discussing the various elements of mainstream media bias, especially in the 3 broadcast networks.  The discussions almost always end in wonderment as to why the various corporate individuals, the Chairman , the CEO’s and the board members condone the bias in the news organizations owned  by their  corporations. What motivates the decision makers to support the bias….. is it money?  Is it because they favor the leftist positions?

Jack Welch knows what went on with NBC News and within the GE Board room.  I’ve seen you interview him and know you have a rapport that might allow discussion in a frank manner.

Perhaps the next time you chat with him you could ask about corporations, networks and bias. Believe me, there are lots of people who want to know what Jack will say.

The General Electric Co is perhaps the largest of manufacturing corporations.  Its officers and board must be respected because they are obviously among the best of the best.  And yet, they allow NBC News and MSNBC to take very partisan and left ideological positions on a constant basis.  Katie Couric and Matt Lauer on the Today show are blatant in their ideological fervor.   Katie goes so far as to wear black on bad days to emphasize her distress with “bad news”

I would love to hear Jack Welch describe the reasoning behind GE allowing Katie and Matt free reign.

I don’t advocate a hardboiled adversarial interview, but rather a discussion among friends of the issues involved with corporations and bias. If you decide to conduct such a discussion, please let me know beforehand. I know several thousand who will want to watch. It would be a great story and a great public service.

Neil Cavuto can ask the questions debated here for years. I've encouraged him to bring his buddy Jack Welch to the studio and talk it over.

I hope he reads and responds to your excellent letter. I've had similar thoughts and often wonder what Jack Welch must REALLY think about GE's position in the crap produced on NBC/MSNBC.

Great post.

Don't forget that out of control, sportscaster-wannabe Olbermann. His post-election ravings are the talk of the Left and fueling the lunacy in DUmmie world.

I sent the email to cavuto@foxnews.com

He might respond to a popular request by a few more who might like to see the media bias question put to Jack Welch.

I know we have discussed the subject of corporate involvement in media bias to death but I would really like to hear Jack Welch's thoughts on the subject. Neil has him on pretty often, as a matter of  fact Jack's a regular on My World. The suggestion for a discussion of corporations, bias, money, customer relations, board member politics seems in order to me.

It's pretty easy to do, just click the address above and ask.

The Leftist bias of the MSM is amazing and really harmful to the country.

Is discrimination against conservatives any less heinous than discrimination against women or minorities?

No, of course not, but the Left is so screwed up and irresponsible that Leftists actually believe that media bias against conservatives is not only accpetable but mandatory.

I thought Olbermann was great on Sportscenter in the eighties. I've never watched his show, but based on what I have read about him, he must be a total nut.

I think they absolute worst thing about the MSM is that they have power but ZERO accountability. Look at what that Leftist shill Rather has gotten away with over the years.

So that's why I have the sense of rolling eyes when I post the same questions. Thanks for the great thread, bert. Ping me if/when you get a response? Thanks.

He's an unabashed Lefty and now acting like a loon with his Vote Conspiracy angle.

I have to admit I have not watched in a week, though. So he may have cooled down a bit.

I know I saw a news story Thursday that said "MSNBC's besides Keith Olbemann, no one in the mainstream media is covering th voter fraud in Ohio..." So I assumed.

I'd love to get Welch's take on why MSNBC let's that baloney continue.

I have a vague recollection of Welch saying in effect that the cable channel is too small potatoes relative to the billions which required his attention at GE.

This is actually more plausible than it sounds. Especially if one is concerned about how history will record one's legacy. Why antagonize the establishment for small gain and great personal loss?

...This is actually more plausible than it sounds...

I won't really argue the point, especially with regard to MSNBC, but TODAY is a little different.

Neverthe less, I would like to hear what the man has to say in a candid hashing of the various points at hand.

He likes to be on TV and this is a chance for knowledgeable face time.

In addition to the blatant bias in their daily "news" broadcasts, what about that embedded NBC "journalist," Kevin Sites. Remember him? He's the guy who videotaped one of our US Marines (justifiably) killing an enemy combatant, and then Sites--or one of his colleagues--turned the tape over to Al Jazeera (before it was aired by NBC) to be used as anti-US propaganda. As far as I'm concerned, that's treason! Sites, and any other US citizens involved in this betrayal, should be summarily tried and executed.

As for Mr. Cavuto, the next time he's chatting with Mr. Walsh, he can tell him that I, and thousands of other Americans, will NOT be buying any more GE products. Period!
