Second juror dismissed in two days. This case has mistrial written all over it. What a mess.

Oh man. Take this trial out behind the barn, put it out of its misery with a .38, and start over again. Sheesh.

Even I would overturn the verdict when you start kicking out jurors during deliberation.

So, what did this one get bounced for? Negotiating a book deal?

No mistrial -- but years of appeals.

Wasn't he a doctor and a lawyer? What was the reasoning given, you know, for those of us who are not glued to this trial.

So, what did this one get bounced for? Negotiating a book deal?Probably juror misconduct. Basically not following instructions given at the beginning.

Agreed. Even if this trial ends in a conviction, the odds of it being reversed on appeal are great. In my county, this trial would have been over two months ago and Peterson would be on death row today.

Found this in a different story here:
Peterson judge removes foreman
The judge did not disclose why he dismissed juror No. 5., a man in his mid-40s who has both medical and law degrees. The juror was replaced by an alternate whose son-in-law now owns a restaurant that Scott and Laci Peterson once owned in San Luis Obispo.
Small world!

If the media spent 1/100th the time on the Van Gogh murder and aftermath as this I'd actually put the news back on my TV.
To: BenLurkin
YOu know.... I was wondering about that. Just because the boat might turn over doesn't mean Peterson didn't do it. Maybe he turned the boat over getting her out of it... and was lucky enough to survive it. OR maybe he dumped her in shallow water and drug her out there. OR who knows.
