In the weeks, months and probably years to come, pundits and academics will be discussing how the greatest war hero that ever lived got 3.5 million less votes than the most despised man that ever lived. Despite all of the talk about moral values, Iraq, terrorism and the economy, the recent presidential election came down to just one thing--beer.
Allan Gotlieb, who served as Canadas ambassador to the United States during the 1980s opined that the Democrats have to stop selecting privileged Massachusetts intellectuals as presidential candidates. Said Gotlieb: Ive always said that the very important quality in U.S. politicians is a figure of likeability--who do you want to have a beer with?
Although Gotliebs description of John Kerry as an intellectual is certainly debatable, there may be something to the former ambassadors theory of the beer factor. Although George W. Bush gave up drinking years ago . . . . .

"Which one would you want to go fishing with, if you knew you weren't gonna catch any fish?"

There is a story told in MA that when John Kerry was running for office (I think, Lt Gov.) and was seeking union support, he was not getting much of it. Some experienced politician took the union head aside and literally said: "Look, its not like you have to have a beer with him -- just vote for the guy."
Definitely not this one:
I took it as sarcasm, even if the author didn't intend it to be.
"Canadian Humor".
John Kerry will be nothing more than a skid-mark on the undershorts of history.
LMFAO
Kerry forgot that REAL MEN don't drink chardonnay!
Forgot the < /sarcasm >.
Remember all those bird hunts Kerry was photographed enjoying ? No one could find evidence that he had ever bought a hunting license in Massachusetts in 25 years.
The writer is clearly ridiculing how Kerry and his gang were portraying Kerry's war record.
My mother in law went back to college and to help pay for that she took a parttime job waiting tables. She waited on Kerry several times. She told me last night he always stiffed her for the tip on left just a dollar or two. He has no clue about middle class values.
It an anti class thing...we don't want a leader that thinks there part of an elite class
I could not imagine setting at my favorite watering hole and having a Budweiser with Hanoi John. Maybe at the country club with a Dom Perignon
if I were wealthy enough.
President Bush would fit right in at the Junction Café.
More rants from another fudge packing gay who hates conservatives and GW. He has spent the last 25 years pushing the Gay agenda.

Uh...Someone who would talk TO me, not AT me?
( Why do Dims insist on making these questions so darn tough for us poor-redneck-religous-whacko-unteachable-ignoramuses, anyway?)
I've just finally noticed this. Look at the background of the photo. You see "Kerry" and below it "Edwards." Then you get a few letters of a couple of words..."lie" and "in."
Taken out of subliminal mode: Kerry/Edwards...lying.
Now THAT appeals to my sense of humor.
(greatest war hero that ever lived)
I thought Audy Murphy was dead.Seriously does anybody REALLY believe Kerry was anything but a war hero to North Viet Nam?
