Is Iran next?

Posted on 11/05/2004 11:41:03 AM PST by IAF ThunderPilot

Now after America gave it's vote, what will be the next step against the global terrorism? As it can't be ignored that the Iranian nuclear threat is not urgent- who do you think WILL act- Israel or USA? And the main question here- are you FOR stopping Iranian nuclear plans or AGAINST it?

I strongly believe that unless a major change is going to happen in Iran, then the IDF will enter to action. The clock is ticking.

You might see troops on the border to keep Iranians from infiltrating Iraq/Afghanistan. You might see mysterious things happening inside Iran. You might see mysterious missiles targeting particularly nasty places. You might see sudden cooperation for mysterious reasons. We shall see.

To borrow from Dennis Miller,

Iran is the next "vegas-odds favorite as the next country to be sh*t-hammered."

Time for a regime change in Iran! If Osama is there, then getting him would be a bonus!

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.

Iran is next. Invasion and occupation are blase.
Surround n Pound is far more tenable and can be
continued or renewed once sufficient assets are
n place.

Of course, spec for will have a field day in Iran.

One way or the other, Iran will have to be dealt with.

Syria needs an ass whuppin, and removes an enemy on America's flank when it's Iran's turn.

I surmise the following:

Bush told Sharon, pull back from Gaza, and eventually Golan. Show some real progress, and you can do as you will with Iran.

I believe the Iranians will see the handwriting on the wall, we just sold the Israeli's 1000's of bunker busters. If they continue on their fanatic quest for nukes, they will be in for a shock when 1000 pounders start raining down. I saw today that Bashar Assad is evening making nice comments about talking with the US today. The arab, muslim, persian world understand strength, and GWB exudes that. After we level Fallujah, we should send an unmistakable message that we are serious about CONTINUING to drain the mideast terror swamp.

Even if it isn't next, it's nice to tell all of my ultra-lib co-workers that "Iran is in between Iraq and Afghanistan; it only makes sense that we go there next". I get such a rise out of them!

Just make sure you plan the airspace deconfliction and roll-in points so that no one gets hurt... accidentally.

Happy hunting, and please remove the threat.

Iran is next alright...Great strategy...make some bases in Iraq with its harbor and we can stomp on Iran and Syria...without ever having to deal with other wimpy nation's airspace....LETS ROLL!!!!!!!!

If we don't get too heavy handed, and if the elections in Iraq come off in a reasonably acceptable way, Iran might fall by itself. There were large numbers (said to be millions) holding impromptue demonstrations when GWB was re-elected.

How long can we wait? Can we afford to let them acquire Nukes? Are they even close to having a working Nuke? Is the Intel good enough to be sure we could even get ALL the critical facilities?

There are a lot more questions, for which, any answer you see posted on the web is almost sure to be wrong.

Israel has previously stated that November is the point of no return for Iran's nuclear weapons program. Politically, Bush likely does not want to have direct ground-troop deployments. Further, even an all-out U.S. air assault would cause quite a stir amongst European nations (see the British yesterday).
My best bet is that Israel is well-prepared to take on Iran with the covert assistance of the U.S. through a massive air assault. I would expect that within the next few weeks, this will take place unless Iran is given enough pressure to fold in the meantime, not very likely.

Based on the fact that we have not found him in Afghanistan or Pakistan, and the fact that the Iranians are big on state-sponsored terrorism.

Also the fact that the Iranians have informed the US thru diplomatic channels that they have some al Qaeda leaders, but they refuse to tell us precisely who, or what they are doing with them.
