What is going on with the networks refusing to call it for Bush? FOX IS SCARED

Posted on 11/03/2004 2:15:02 AM PST by GLDNGUN

Ok, folks HERE is what is happening. A couple of networks called Ohio early for Bush, while a couple of others held off. It was assumed that Kerry would emerge from his hole and concede. When he refused to do that, it put the networks on the spot. Those that hadn't called Ohio for Kerry now have an "out" to not call Ohio for Bush. Those that have already called Ohio for Bush are stuck. They don't want to take it off the board for 2 reasons. First, they will look like they are making the Florida mistake all over again of calling a state prematurely, and having to take it back. Secondly, THEY KNOW BUSH WON OHIO. So, their attitude is "ok, democrats, we'll hold off calling the state, but we are not going to take our call back. We're not going to say we made a mistake when we know we didn't.". So, in place of taking the Ohio call back, they are simply refusing to call any other states for Bush that would put him over, such as Nevada. For those networks that haven't called Ohio for Bush, they are free to call Nevada for Bush since the race is clearly over. The goal here of the networks is to make all of the calls they can without putting push over the top, since Kerry won't concede. Kerry is telling them behind the scenes "don't you dare call this election! You'll "poison" any recount if you do! You'll just be helping Bush win like you did in 2000!" They of course are more than happy to help Kerry. This is why we have the networks that called Ohio for Bush refusing to acknowledge that Nevada, while all the others have had Nevada in Bush's column for some time now.

Soooo, that brings us to Fox. They have Ohio for Bush. Why won't they make the Nevada call? Because they don't want to be the first and only one. They KNOW the other networks won't follow suit and are waiting for the Ohio question to be settled, even though there is no question. They don't want to be the only one calling the election for Bush. THEY ARE CHICKEN. They are afraid of looking like being Bush's media piece and of not appearing "fair and balanced".

Their current host with that hideous dye job on his hair just slipped and said "we have called Nevada for Bush, but not New Mexico". HA! If they had, Bush would over 270 EVs. He let this slip because it's OBVIOUS and everyone knows this.

I thought I had seen it all, until tonight. We are watching outright collusion between Kerry and the networks.

The MSM's last stand is tonight.
Congrats, Bush won, and we have hit the last nail in their coffin.

The French press has already called it for President Bush. Leave it to the French to surrender first.

Exactly, by not calling the states for Bush, they are keeping the President from declaring victory. Also, the longer Kerry can hold out, the greater the perception that the evil Republicans have stolen another election. This is just a pathetic attempt to dilute the mandate of the people.

We all need to email Drudge and ask him to call the election. If that were to happen, the MSM would fall in line immediately.

It's not the media's job to "call it." That's for the electoral process. The Monday following the second Wednesday of December the Electoral delegates will cast their votes. It is then that it will be decided. On January 6th, the winner is announced before both houses of Congress.

Yeah wtf, in Fox's own coverage in the news ticker they have Nevada with 100% of the votes in and Bush with a win, yet somehow they have forgot to give him the 5 electoral votes put him at 274 so we can all go to bed happy. I just went and looked at their website, they even have it on there too, what idiots

http://www.foxnews.com/youdecide2004/races.html?NV

Give me a damn break. I thought every network's goal was to call it first, is it now who can drag it out the longest even when the winer is inevitable?

Fox and NBC were right in calling Ohio for Bush. Now they're shaking in their boots, with 99% of the vote in in Iowa, New Mexico and Nevada, to call the vote for Bush. Wusses. (Fox may have called Nevada...)

What a bunch of losers.

Ok, then they can't call any for Kerry. You cannot call states for one candidate and not another.

With this basis, they must go back and pull the calls for all the states. How can you call some states early in the night and not call other states?

What are the options for Bush? Does he call for recounts on every Kerry state that is somewhat close? Does he look for fraud in Kerry states?

Or, is President Bush merely allowed to sit and wait while Kerry tries all options of theft? Bush to sit and wait while the media decides which states they will give him totally ignoring the votes of that state?

Peter Jennings was complaining to George Stephenopolis that it is President' Bush's perogative to come out and declare victory. That it is wrong of him not to do this leaving it up to the networks. He then a few minutes later signed off for the night.

They won't give President Bush an inch even in his night of the largest historical victories in the U.S. Presidency. The American people aren't going to put up with this for more than a few hours tomorrow.

I just did what you suggested and emailed Mat Drudge asking him to call the election for Bush. I think everyone should follow your advice - nothing to lose - right?

Fox keeps mentioning that they can't call New Mexico over and over.

Meanwhile Bush is up by tens of thousands and 3% in Nevada and they refuse to call that...

Threatened, chicken, worried about lawsuits... Pick your poison.

Hasn't anybody noticed? This problem in Ohio coupled with a 24,000 vote 'hiccup' in NM (which has quit counting for the night) and ANOTHER 'hiccup' with 2 counties in Iowa is EXACTLY enough to hold off on calling a Bush reelection Does anyone her really believe this combination of improbabilities is a coincidence?
