I'm shocked!
Distinguished Board of Advisors: Anthony W. Armstrong, GTE, Sacramento, CA. Ray B. Chambers Dr. Herbert J. Ellison, University of Washington. Dr. Donald C. Hellman, University of Washington. Diane Hodgson Hon. Jerome Johnson, Superior Court (RET) Seattle. James F. Lane J. Eugene Marans, Cleary, Gottleib, Wash. D.C. Gen. Merril A. McPeak, Chief of Staff, USAF (RET) Hon. Thomas E. Petri, U.S. House of Representatives.
No Sh!^! He was the worst Chief of Staff the AF has ever had.
McPeak was -- and still is -- an idiot. When he was Chief of Staff, his job was training and equipping the Air Force. What was the cornerstone of his plan? To change the uniform to make officers look like doormen at the Hilton.
Definitely sucked as chief of staff.
Sucked as 12 AF commander
Sucket as PACAF Commander
McPeak has probably got the SECDEF job locked up if Kerry gets elected!!
Why do you think Clinton chose him...all the Generals he promoted were lefties.
That Kerry considers Mc Peuk his top military advisor is scary. He shows his disdain for the troops today by calling the current administration a "regime". Now I know why life sucked under Mc Peak....he hated us.
I have had to listen to McPeak and Madeline not to bright on our local stations all day. And tomorrow Clinton is going to be here.
These dem o rats are getting on my last nerve.

God help the Armed Forces of the United States if McPeak ever becomes SECDEF!
If the American people elect John Kerry, we deserve everything he does to us.
Most of the fliers wore a Friday patch that read "fags" with a line through it. This was in honor of Mc Peak and Clinton shoving it down our throats.....so to speak.
Was watching Fox tonight. On O'Reilly, Lockhard (Kerry Campaign) brought up McPeak's name, and quoted him about "mistakes" made in Iraq. Then, on Hannity & Colmbs, Phil Donahue (sp?) brought up his name too. Must be a new Democrat Talking Point! Neither one mentioned that McPeak retired in 1994...
But we knew that...
I've been reading Tommy Franks' book. It is not only a great read, but in there he really takes the Joint Chiefs to the cleaners. He has some fairly unkind descriptions of the various chiefs, and why they are a daily nuisance to the people out getting the job done.
Remember always that the Joint Chiefs are NOT in the chain of command for operational matters, and for good reason. Theirs is a political and bureaucratic post, not an operational or line post.
That McPeak and Franks are at odds and take opposing sides in this election is no surprise.
As for me, I'll side up with Franks: American Soldier.
I thought that was a specialty?
Wes Clark is campaigning hard for SECDEF also!!!
LOL! I got out in 1997, just in time to avoid the monica hats!

".."Not overwhelmingly impressive" is still the assessment of retired Gen. Merrill McPeak, the top Air Force general during the Gulf War. "He sometimes seems to want to come across as one of these aw-shucks, sneaky-smart kind of guys. Its impossible to judge whether hes really sneaky-smart, or sneaky-average."
But the sniping at Franks largely subsided as the Taliban were routed from Afghanistan, and Bush and Rumsfeld made clear their support for the general..."
How can he draw his retirement and actively promote Kerry -ads, speeches, appearances and not violate his contract, and the Hatch act.
You little enlisted swine do as we say but not as we do.
