McPeak was -- and still is -- an idiot. When he was Chief of Staff, his job was training and equipping the Air Force. What was the cornerstone of his plan? To change the uniform to make officers look like doormen at the Hilton.

Kerry and Joe Lockhart repeat McPeak's support over and over and over. You'd swear that McPeak speaks for the ENTIRE MILITARY if you listened to the democrats!!

McPeak has probably got the SECDEF job locked up if Kerry gets elected!!

This sucker had nothing better to do than change our uniform configuration a DOZEN times while I was active duty during the 1980's and 1990's. He wasn't popular then, and he's still not popular with most people who were USAF/AD at that time who remember him.

We actually qualified for welfare as active duty people, and he could do nothing more productive than change the location of patches, and grade insignia.

BTW....as I remember....nobody paid a lot of attention to his uniform changes. It was funny....I was at WPAFB and because everybody pretty much ignored the changes after the sixth time in so many months, 2nd Lt's were made "uniform monitors". They would write you up for being out of AFR 35-10. You would take the form to your First Sergeant, and he'd drop it in the "circular file"! ...sometimes while you were standing there!

That Kerry considers Mc Peuk his top military advisor is scary. He shows his disdain for the troops today by calling the current administration a "regime". Now I know why life sucked under Mc Peak....he hated us.

God help the Armed Forces of the United States if McPeak ever becomes SECDEF!

If the American people elect John Kerry, we deserve everything he does to us.

Most of the fliers wore a Friday patch that read "fags" with a line through it. This was in honor of Mc Peak and Clinton shoving it down our throats.....so to speak.

Was watching Fox tonight. On O'Reilly, Lockhard (Kerry Campaign) brought up McPeak's name, and quoted him about "mistakes" made in Iraq. Then, on Hannity & Colmbs, Phil Donahue (sp?) brought up his name too. Must be a new Democrat Talking Point! Neither one mentioned that McPeak retired in 1994...

But we knew that...

I've been reading Tommy Franks' book. It is not only a great read, but in there he really takes the Joint Chiefs to the cleaners. He has some fairly unkind descriptions of the various chiefs, and why they are a daily nuisance to the people out getting the job done.

Remember always that the Joint Chiefs are NOT in the chain of command for operational matters, and for good reason. Theirs is a political and bureaucratic post, not an operational or line post.

That McPeak and Franks are at odds and take opposing sides in this election is no surprise.

As for me, I'll side up with Franks: American Soldier.

McPeak on Tommy Franks(all you need to Know about McPeak)

".."Not overwhelmingly impressive" is still the assessment of retired Gen. Merrill McPeak, the top Air Force general during the Gulf War. "He sometimes seems to want to come across as one of these aw-shucks, sneaky-smart kind of guys. It’s impossible to judge whether he’s really sneaky-smart, or sneaky-average."

But the sniping at Franks largely subsided as the Taliban were routed from Afghanistan, and Bush and Rumsfeld made clear their support for the general..."

This bastard was a supposed leader.

How can he draw his retirement and actively promote Kerry -ads, speeches, appearances and not violate his contract, and the Hatch act.

You little enlisted swine do as we say but not as we do.

Ringknocking corksucker
