The U.S. attorney for the northern district of Indiana is being asked to investigate an alleged incident of voter fraud.
The name of a man who died more than three years ago has shown up on paperwork requesting a mailed absentee ballot.
The man's name is Stanley Grygiel. He was a staunch democrat, a UAW member and somewhat politically active. Up until now, it appeared that activity ended when he died in June of 2001.
Mail from the Democratic Party still occasionally shows up at the home of the late Grygiel, according to a son who still lives there.
The son expressed surprise Thursday, when told that an application for a mailed absentee ballot, bearing his father's name, had been turned in to the voter registration office.
Brooks Kochvar, of the Chocola campaign, said, "There's no way it was an accident. Somebody fraudulently filled out an absentee ballot application, and we want to find out why."
The campaign office of Congressman Chris Chocola obtained the documents in question. They show Stanley Grygiel's correct date of birth and a signature.
The problem is the paperwork also includes an obituary showing Grygiel died in June of 2001.
It's a pretty serious offense. Its a felony to create voter fraud or participate in voter fraud, punishable by up to five years in jail, and by $10,000 fine.
Stanley's son told said he didn't do it, nor does he know who did. The Chocola campaign wants an answer to that question and wants it to come from the U.S. attorney for Northern Indiana.
This is the only known instance of alleged voter fraud in St. Joseph County
Will they take the obvious step of checking the document for fingerprints? Or is it too late?
ping.
...and we want to find out why."
DUH!
I wonder how many Grygiel's there are. You would think that they would at least use a common name to commit election fraud!
This is Duh Region. The political motto is "vote early and often". All the big Dem bosses were born taking bribes in fact.
It was all we could do, even as children down in Marion County, to counter this stuff ~ won't go into that, but 's fact all's fair in political campaigns that's fair in war FUR SHUR.
Maybe advance notice that he's returning......?
they may never find the perp now. They should have waited until he showed up to vote and nabbed him then.
its to late now its been hanfled by about 100 people already
...and a note from your compiler of links- near the "last" are links about ACORN, Project Vote, PIGRIM, and other far-Left pressure groups who hide under the "activist" label while subverting representative government.
These nasty characters demean and dilute the value of everyone's vote.
The plan, besides their hope of throwing the election to sKerry, is to so thoroughly corrupt the election results that Mr. Bush will either not be taken seriously, or open to impeachment.
You had better take this stuff seriously- it is a dagger aimed at the heart of the Republic.
I like these stories because we all know that there has been voter fraud for years but no-one took it that seriously. This election everyone is.
sorry - good point.
More Republican vote suppression of the vitality-challenged minority!
Apparently this area is so inviting that the dead voters in chicago are migrating to elkhart and marion countys this year:-)I always wanted to see tourism increase in this area but this isnt exactly what I had in mind lol
This could actually be an excellent last-minute exercise if all 435 Republican House candidates would find the same sort of example(s) from their districts and show them on local TV over the weekend.
It should be relatively easy to find this kind of blatant voter fraud, and it would put the Democrats on notice if 100% of those found would be Democrat voters. It would galvanize the GOP vote, garner jail-time for a bunch of crooks, and help inoculate the after-election charge of "voter suppression".
