Matt Drudge, Dan Rather, and a Bag of Rovian Dirty Tricks [FR gets honorable mention]
Progressive Trail ^ | Oct 27, 2004 | by Kurt Nimmo

Poor Matt Drudge. He has not broken a story worth consideration since he ripped off the Monica Lewinsky story from Newsweek in 1998, thus providing himself with a career boost as a right-wing muckraker. Now Drudge posts half-ass stories with page dominating headlines. His latest is really pathetic—60 Minutes had planned to run the Iraq missing explosives story October 31, as if that would somehow impact the election (at this point, the only way Bush will lose the election would be if Karl Rove had been abducted by aliens about six months ago).

CBS is a whipping dog for Republican reactionaries. It was only a month ago that Rove—who learned the art of dirty tricks under CREEP operative Donald Sergetti—pulled off the Bush National Guard records scam that made Dan Rather look like an idiot, admittedly not that difficult of a task. One of Rove’s apparent operatives, Harry W. MacDougald, known as the blogger “Buckhead,” posted messages at the rabid right-wing site freerepublic.com that the documents were forgeries. Buckhead put out a clarion call—eagerly answered by the Bush faithful and like-minded zombies—to get Rather and CBS....

It's Segretti, not "Sergetti". Us Eye-talians get seriously annoyed by people who can't spell.

LOL, what can one say? I would have commented on the article, as readers are invited to do, but these folks are so nuts I didn't want them to have my email address.

One reason Kerry is going to lose is that his voter base lives in the Bizarro world. They actually believe this stuff. Any political strategy that is based on sheer lunacy is destined to fail.
