Swift Vets and POWs for Truth Orlando Rally Thread

Today (Wednesday) from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Lake Eola Bandshell, Orlando, FL., Swift Boat Vets and POWs will be holding a rally for Truth.

We would love to have a large group of fellow FReepers and friends at the rally. With less than 6 days to determine America's future, let's all rally, even only in prayer and spirit, and show our support for these TRUE heroes.

First event is at the Lake Eola Bandshell downtown Orlando, corner East Washington Street and North Rosalind Ave in 32801 17:30 hrs (5:30 PM National Guard time) (Mapquest for directions)

Afterparty at Chapters Restaurant, 358 North Park Ave (corner of Canton) Winter Park 32789

About 8-10 minutes from Bandshell. Best route is I-4 east to Fairbanks Ave East, (about 3 miles, right turn coming off Interstate) to left on Park Ave north (about 3 miles / over RR tracks and left at 7/11.) One mile north to 358 North Park Ave, on near right corner of Park/Canton. 20:00 hrs/8:00 PM, til....... (Mapquest is again a good idea)

Party is semi-private, so act nice :~)... and keep one foot on the floor at all times :~) There will be a FReeper call about 20:15!!!!! C U there.

LARGEST ASSEMBLY OF SWIFT BOAT VETERANS/POWs TO ATTEND ORLANDO RALLY WEDNESDAY

The largest assembly of Swift Boat Veterans/POWs held in the United States will attend a rally in Orlando on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Eola Bandshell.

The rally at Lake Eola will feature a dozen "Swiftees" as they are called and former Prisioners of War from the Vietnam War. Included in the rally are Steve Gardner, who served on the same swift boat with Kerry for 2 1/2 of the 4 months Kerry was a swift boat commander and Dr. Lewis Letson, who removed the "splinter" that allowed Kerry to receive his first purple heart.

The Swiftee and POWs will tell their individual stories to the audience and will be followed by a showing of "STOLEN HONOR" in a Central Florida exclusive. The 48 minute documentary has not been shown in the Central Florida area.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public. The singing group, THE 4 GIRLS ONLY will sing patriotic songs and the National Anthem. The Vietnam Veterans of Central Florida, the Rally's co-sponsor, will have their PBR Vietnam-era river boat on display.

The event is sponsored by The Guetzloe Report, a radio talk show heard on WAMT 1190AM; The Roger Franklin Williams Show, a radio talk show heard on WFLA 540 and the Vietnam Veterans of Central Florida, Inc.

I had a great time last night in Orlando and Winter Haven and I really enjoyed meeting all of you. We were in the company of HEROES for sure.

I am going to write my story about it later today, so I'll just post a few pics for now.
