know that many readers remain puzzled about Bushs actions regarding Ohio. They find it downright peculiar that Bush has been avoiding the state. My running un-weighted average of the reputable polls indicates that Bush is only up 1.5%, with a MOE of 1.5%. This begs the obvious question: do Bush and Rove know something that the rest of us do not?

Look, they didn't win Ohio by a huge margin in 2000 and Nader was on the ballot, they better get there

We have something better than Nader on the ballot this time, a vote on banning the perversion of the word marriage.

I thought Bush was supposed to be in OH this week with Schwarzenegger.

Avoiding the state - ?
What have these people been drinking - :)
President Bush has been drawing "hugh" crowds - No matter which state he is in - and that includes Ohio -

Is it at all possible to end this canonization going on here at Free Republic for Karl Rove. Besides being the first campaign manager in 124 years to win without winning the popular vote, what has he done to achieve this god like status? His work on the first debate was almost catastrophic. He's allowed a score of dubious and duplicitous accusations to go unchallenged, except by an obligatory "They're desparate" press release. It was FR and Powerline and LGF that downed Dan Rather, not Rove.
The campaign is at a seminal moment. It's make your reputation time. Hey Karl where are you? The world wonders.

I know the conventional thinking is that Marriage votes in ohio and Mi will help Bush, I'm not so sure. I think it might get out a large black vote, which will have no problem with voting for Kerry and against gay marriage. Now if Rove and someothers are correct that 4 million christians stayed home in 2000 perhaps it will still be a Bush advantage

I thought Bush was supposed to be in OH this week with Schwarzenegger. I heard this too. Should be a big plus for Bush. Sure to get lots of publicity.

Kind of curious why, during the end game of tight campaign, there are all these Freepers who spend all their time bashing their own side?

I think you're wrong. I think Bush will get more support from the black community this time. Perhaps 13-15% as opposed to the 8 he got last time. He will get that because of his stance on cultural issues.
I also think that the there are many more Christian Conservatives who will be brought to the booth to vote against than there will be folks to vote for homosexual marriage.
My evidence for that is the polls done in the various states that have had a referendum on this issue. Turnout was heavy and support for the ban outpaced the polls by about 10-15 points.
JMHO of course.

Bush is coming Thursday to Dayton. Rumor has it the Arnold coming is up in the air. Also Hannity, Boortz and Bennett will be here Saturday night for a get out the vote rally. It is being held in a church and only accommodates 2000...tickets are first come. I expect a BIG crowd.
