If she becomes first lady, Teresa Heinz Kerry intends to champion the cause of health care reform, much the same way Hillary Clinton did in 1994. And just like Hillary, Teresa has her husband's backing.
In Jan. 2003, Heinz Kerry told the Boston Herald that she expects to be an "activist first lady." And her first priority would be to create a "Department of Wellness" that would stress preventive health reforms.
Until recently, Teresa's Department of Wellness had been consigned to the dustbin of wacky campaign ideas. Or so it seemed. Then In September, John Kerry told a North Carolina crowd: "What I'm determined to do, and it's in my health-care plan, is refocus America on something that can reduce the cost of health care significantly for all Americans, which is wellness and prevention. And I intend to have not just a Department of Health and Human Services, but a Department of Wellness."
Last week, the would be first lady, who considers herself an amateur medical expert, advised on audience on a remedy for arthritis: Soak nine white raisins in gin and take one a day.
No doubt Teresa's gin-soaked raisin remedy will be official policy in any Kerry administration Department of Wellness.
The thought of THK becoming involved in policy is terrifying. People that say they are not voting for First Lady are mistaken in this case. Money bags Theresa is used to having her way and will be a definite force in White house decision making. she's a looney tune.
I never thought I would say this, but Hitlary is a genious compared to TEE-RA-ZA.
And they say Bush won't admit his mistakes. Sheesh!
Hillary Care. Tereza Care. Communists Don't Care. It's all the same.
Damn. I was hoping Teresa's pet project was going to be
multi-lingual education or forcing homemakers to get out of
house and do something constructive.
just different types of psychosis - both nutty than fruitcakes
She'll be less successful and more loathed than Hillary.
And I intend to have not just a Department of Health and Human Services, but a Department of Wellness."
Better said, Socialized Medicine". Ask Canada and the Brits what they think of theirs.
just different types of psychosis - both nutty than fruitcakes
And both extremely UGLY.
PS. Like your screenname.
She wanted to buy a president so she could dabble in public policy for a hobby.
Speaking of being "Unfit For Command!" Holy gin and raisins. Worst idea I've ever heard. Woman needs to be committed to a "Department of Sobriety" for a long, long time!
She wanted to buy a president so she could dabble in public policy for a hobby.
They do have one big thing in common though, they both are married to slimes.
ROFL--Gin soaked white raisins and beer; let the children run naked.
I'm sorry I work in the Health Care Industry and we don't need more democratic help to further screw up what Hillary started (Hillary Care = No Flu Shots now)
More loathed? Not a chance. Not one chance in either Hell or Heaven.
God, this is a nightmare....at least Hilary had some IQ points. Theresa's brain has been deep fried in a vat of vodka.
Of course she doesn't realize that Hillary-care was one of the main reasons for the Republican sweep of Congress in 1994.
I remember a bit about hillary's health plan. It was formed by committees meeting covertly, and the membership didn't have much representation by doctors or insurance folks (it was mainly lawyers, if I recall correctly). I'm not sure if the meeting notes were ever made public.
As I remember, the "plan" may have given "health care" to all, but it took away existing plans first. (Sound collectivist?) Competing private health care systems didn't exist in the plan. It was dehumanizing, it was hostile, and it was hillary's.
All jokes aside, Teresa Heinz doesn't strike me as the bookish type, or someone whom we might call an organized planner, or even a human with an "attention span". If she were involved in health plan "reform", not only would she have had little to do with it, it would be unlikely that she would have even read it.
What I'm getting to is... I'm wondering if hillary's fine hand just might be involved here. (Or is that getting a little "tinfoilish"?)
