Bush-Cheney '04 Launches New Television Advertisement, "The Choice"
George W. Bush ^ | October 25, 2004

Posted on 10/25/2004 1:43:14 PM PDT by RWR8189

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "The Choice."  The ad discusses the choice voters face on the War on Terror, tax relief, health care and Social Security.  The ad will begin running tomorrow on national cable and in select local markets.

Script For "The Choice"

Voice Over:
When it’s finally quiet, here’s the choice:

President Bush and Congressional allies:
- strong leadership to protect America
- tax relief
- common sense healthcare
- strengthen and protect Social Security

John Kerry and liberal allies:
- higher taxes
- voting to tax Social Security benefits
- government-run healthcare
- a record of slashing intelligence and
- reckless defense cuts

Alone in the booth…why take the risk?

President Bush:
I’m George W. Bush and I approve this message

This ad seems kind of week, but it's not like I'm some kind of expert.

I think the wolves ad is much better.

Good ad, but it could have been harder hitting at the end...that why take the risk question doesn't nail it. Some fools will say, oh, why not, Kerry's a good man, etc.. What they needed to do was call Kerry a liar whose word could never be trusted. Ever. He'd put the safety of your children in the hands of the UN and countries who do not wish us well...

Decent. Low key. Can't dance to it.

I give it a seven.

The majority of people I've spoken to did not know that the Dems taxed SS.
I think that part is great and the rest is pretty good.

they've been doing that for months. This is just the final reinforcement of it.

It's a good summation - "the campaign is almost over, you've had the opportunity to take a look at kerry and maybe considered him, but now you have to decide."

Note the quick comment "alone in the booth" in this ad. How powerful is that!

I truly think that for some good number of voters, even those who were leaning for Kerry, it may come down to that time alone in the booth when they cast their ballot. No one else need ever know their vote; they don't have to tell, and they can even lie to their liberal friends about their vote, and they'd never know.

I like the wolves ad, too!

This ad seems kind of weak

They're not trying to convince you. You're already convinced. They're trying the convince the fencesitters that, when they go into the voting booth, they should make the right choice for safety and security. A low key approach is best for this audience. They need a quiet nudge to do the right thing.

No, the wolf ad is a Bush/Cheney ad. In the end there is the I'm George W Bush and I approve this message bit.

That's a masterstroke. People will recall this just as they enter the booth. Perfect.

Gives emotional cover for someone who is thinking about voting Kerry, if only because their friends/family/spouse tells them too.

When you're alone in the booth, no one will know if you vote different.

Perfect.

I like the wolves too. But that add is to get the base to the polls. This one is for the undecided/wavering voter.

Good ad, good images, nice clear message.

I like the touch of W and Laura on the porch at the ranch at the end. Subtle reminder of TeRAYza the wack job.
