According to a Philadelphia Inquirer story on his novel ideal, Alker's signs haven't been stolen for the past three elections. "The last time anyone messed with me was the Gore election [of 2000]," Alker, a former construction worker, told the paper. "They got as far as the street with the sign and then they dumped it." Alker says not only will the black tar take three or four weeks to get off a perpetrator's body, but its the odor is not very pleasant.
I prefer urushiol oil.
What, he does't have a dog? The dog will produce a better substance for rubbing on signs, given a can of food.
My Bush yard sign was stolen yesterday. (Downers Grove, IL) DuPage County.
High voltage electric current.
My Bush/Cheney sign is sitting out in my front yard with a light green X spray painted on both sides. It is hard to see the paint from the road so it isn't too big of a deal. I might try the roofing tar or some other type of substance.
Dermatologist?
That's very cruel - but a great idea nonetheless. You must be a poison Ivy Leaguer...
Improvised Explosive Device...... non-lethal, of course.
What's the X for?
This morning my yard signs were bent over, pulled part way out of the ground and torn. Others were missing on the block. Moved them closer to the house and added another Bush sign. Will get roofing tar tomorrow.
As I said in another thread, I want one of those plastic devices dept stores use that sprays dye if you don't take it off properly.
He didn't get to be 51 w/o learning a few things along the way!
Kudos to him!!!
I'm still mourning the loss of one of mine last night! But tomorrow I replace it with 2 more!!
American ingenuity at its best. thanks.
Go to a hunting store and get a bottle of skunk essence. Pour this gunk into a re-sealable bag. Hook it to the sign in such a way as to allow it to come open upon lifting the sign. Sit back and enjoy the fun :)
You mean "ZOT?"
I don't have a problem with people taking the signs that I put up on my lawn. It's the ones that I have placed in public places that have been stolen. They even tossed some of them into a local river. They are very environmentally concious thiefs I guess!!
I prefer skunk oil from a skunk!
LOL!!! good advice.
