AROUND THE WORLD Iran backs Bush for re-election
TEHRAN, IRAN - The head of Irans security council said Tuesday that the re-election of President Bush was in Tehrans best interests, despite the administrations axis of evil label, accusations that Iran harbors al-Qaeda terrorists and threats of sanctions over the countrys nuclear ambitions.
Historically, Democrats have harmed Iran more than Republicans, said Hasan Rowhani, head of the Supreme National Security Council, Irans top security decision-making body.
"We havent seen anything good from Democrats," Mr. Rowhani told state-run television in remarks that, for the first time in recent decades, saw Iran openly supporting a U.S. presidential candidate.
The Bush campaign said no thanks.
"Its not an endorsement well be accepting anytime soon," Bush campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel said. Myanmar replaces prime minister BANGKOK, THAILAND - Myanmars tough but pragmatic prime minister was sacked Tuesday by his hard-line army colleagues, clouding prospects for the freedom of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and for democracy in the military-led Southeast Asian nation.
The ouster of Gen. Khin Nyunt, 65, who was also military intelligence chief, seemed to spell an end to a power struggle between so-called moderates and a faction uninterested in negotiating reconciliation with democracy activists or nations critical of the regime.
A separate broadcast announced that the new prime minister is Lt. Gen. Soe Win, a former air defense chief.
From wire service reports
Iran could be trying to actually harm Bush's chances with this so-called endorsement.
Yes, of course I believe what ever the Iman says, said simple Simon to the Piemam.
Time to even things up.

That is my instant reaction entirely!
Reverse psychology for the simple of mind.
As I recall, it was a Dem who witnessed the overthrow of the Shah and the installation of Islamofascism in that country, no?
Agreed!
...just a ploy to bring Jewish voters back to Kerry. I wonder if Dem and Iranian agents had a secret meeting at a Prague cafe earlier this year?
Wrong. Rowhani wouldn't even have a job if Jimmy Carter had not handed the country over to the mullahs.
Either they are stupid, or they are trying to help Kerry.
"Either they are stupid, or they are trying to help Kerry."
Another possibility...they see the handwriting on the wall vis a vis this election and beyond, and hope to save their sorry mullah butts.
"We havent seen anything good from Democrats,"
haha... too funny.
No, it doesn't.
Remember, it is OK to lie to infidels.
Kerry was to busy denying that he met with them before he met with them.
no! ya think?
Yes, wise ass, I think. Apparently you don't.
sorry - didn't realize I needed to put a [sarcasm] tag on an obvious reply to the obvious (and probably correct) suspicion.
