"John Kerry's efforts to spread false internet rumors on the draft undermine his own credibility. He has demonstrated for the second day in a row that he is a candidate willing to do or say anything to score political points. The American people saw John Kerry this week cast aside any attempt at decency and his fear mongering today confirms that." - Steve Schmidt, Bush-Cheney '04 Spokesman |
Kerry is the Dan Rather of politics.
Fewer young people would be motivated to enlist with flip-flopping "Hanoi John" as their Commander-in-chief.
Watching broadcast news and reading major newspapers is like living in a echo chamber which resonates whatever Kerry's line is for the day.
How will the media report this?
The crooked MSM should be talking the Rangle and Hollings -- the creators of the DRAFT LEGISLATION...then the crooked MSM should make note that (1) the LEGISLATION IS DEAD (and was voted against BY ITS DEMOCRAT CREATORS and (2) BUSH HAS SAID IT WILL NOT HAPPEN WHILE HE IS PRESIDENT.
Do we see that in here???? AGAIN, KERRY LIES AND IS PLAYING THE FEAR CARD ON YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE STARTING TO TURN AWAY FROM HIS TREASONOUS, ANTI-AMERICAN PERFORMANCE...
Its the plan-man its the plan, its the plan, plan. It should be set to music.
President Bush: "We're Not Going To Have A Draft, Period."
That's fine, but it would be useful for the White House
to also identify and disclaim the Universal National
Service angle. Any future draft would not be just to
meet military manpower requirements - it would be to
institute UNS. The just-defeat bill was a UNS bill.
And both Kerry and Edwards support UNS, starting with
making "service" a requirement to graduate from high school.
The kids need to know what K+E have planned for them.

The Draft Hoax of 2004 - edition 2004-10-10.22:00
Joseph Goebbels would be proud.
We have here a case of the
"Reverse Big Lie"
Not only is the "secret Bush draft" a lie,
the truth is a secret Kerry-Edwards draft.
The Kerry camp coordinators have fired up a series of scare
ads on the draft. As is usual for "progressives", accusing
their opponents of what they themselves are doing.
Kerry has accused Bush of having a secret draft plan, based
on no evidence at all. Kerry himself has been trying to
cover up his own statements. What would a President
Kerry be likely to do?
Before getting to the details, it's important to note that
this issue is not primarily about a military draft. It's
about Universal National Service (UNS). Stealing two years
from every life, then 3, and heck, why stop there ...
And National Service is less about service than about
indoctrinating the slaves by controlling the agenda of
the approved forms of service.
But make no mistake about it, if Kerry is elected, they'll
also need a draft to meet military manpower requirements,
because voluntary enlistments and re-enlistments will drop
to near zero. The National Guard is already seeing signs
that people are waiting to see who will be the next
President.
Furthermore, it will be very dangerous to be in a Kerry
military. Apart from more Mogudishu disasters, expect
the troops to be exposed to random war crimes tribunals.
The Bush Administration has done zero to move toward a
draft and does not support it.
The only bills submitted are by Democrats.

http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d108:SN00089:
The House forced a vote on HR 163 in early October,
and it was defeated by a massive 402-2 vote. Even
its own sponsor (Rangel) voted against it. Yet the
draft hoax continues. Let's look a bit deeper.
HR 163 (aka SB 89), bears the title:
"Universal National Service Act of 2003"
it includes the provision:
"...or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the
national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes."
... and for other purposes ...
This was way more than a military draft bill.
It was conscription for completely undefined and
arbitrary purposes - involuntary servitude, i.e. slavery,
doing whatever bidding the ruling class might prescribe.
Fear the ruling class that advocates mandatory national
service.
Bush has said he'd veto HR 163. Keep in mind also
that the SecDef when the draft was shut down was
Donald Rumsfeld, and Rummy has made recent comments
that his disdain for the draft has not since changed.
Kerry has said exactly nothing about HR163 specifically.
Although Kerry and Edwards are on the campaign trail
promising to oppose a "draft", they in fact support
UNS, but are hiding that. And even if they were to
oppose UNS, you already know what a Kerry promise
or position is worth.
Where have they been on this issue?
Kerry has removed pages, formerly at:
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/natservice and
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/100days/communityservice_high.html
A copy of the latter was saved from the memory hole here:
http://www.mcgath.com/kerryslavery.html
"As President, John Kerry will ensure that every
high school student in America does community
service as a requirement for graduation. . . ."
The current K+E National Service is more watered down:
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/national_service/
Apparently, the older position was too honest.
And Edwards? Go see:
http://www.senate.gov/~edwards/issues/educ/service.html
Under the Kerry plan, of course, we can expect
exemptions for the children of rich politicians.
The Selective Service System is already in place, and
could be reactivated in the event of some unforseen
emergency (Canada threatens to invade us :-). If Kerry
is defeated, the SSS, unneeded since Vietnam, is most
likely to remain right where it is today - dormant.
> This scare is getting to people on the college campus.
> It has to be responded to, not minimized and disregarded.
So share what I've written with them. Have them read
the legislation and check out the sponsors. Tell them
to do their own research on what Bush people have said,
and what Kerry & Co. have historically advocated. Tell
them to look at which faction is more likely to stick by
their historical positions.
Someone is lying. The only question is who.
Kerry is leading the naive into a trap. He's opened
a "hide out from the draft" shelter and invited the
kids to come in.
After it's too late, the sign will be pulled off to
reveal a new sign:
Universal National Service Processing Center
I suspect the Kerry internal polling is not showing good results. In the real world, any objective observer with half a sane brain would realize that GW Bush had the better of Kerry in the last two debates. The current "open" polling is starting to reflect that now. Also, add that Kerry is campaigning heavily in the "blue" states which he cannot afford to lose under any circumstances. The "draft" thing is just one of many "Hail Mary" passes Mr. Kerry will throw. It will go nowhere and,it will actually hurt him.

Someone (not the press, of course!) should ask Kerry where he plans to get those 40,000 new troops he promised.
"A current inflammatory piece of gossip is the insinuation by Democrats that President Bush will restore the military draft if he is re-elected. The gossip was gaining steadier legs every day, mostly through the Internet, prompting concerned Republicans to bury it deep once and for all. A bill languishing from last year was called up in the House and dispatched on a 402-2 vote.
"We're going to put a nail in that coffin," said House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. Speaking to Iowa voters the other day, President Bush vowed, "We will not have a draft so long as I'm the president of the United States."
Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, called draft talk "the hoax of the year."
A news report depicted Demo-crats as being "outraged" at DeLay's tactic, accusing him of a "cynical political ploy," Said Democratic Rep. Charles R. Rangel of New York, "It is a prostitution of the legislative process to take a serious issue and use it for political purposes on the eve of the election just to say they are against the draft." This is Rangel at his most disingenuous self.
Rep. Rangel was the author of the bill reinstituting the draft. But he voted against it. A flip-flop? Or was he trying to pull some political shenanigans himself? Certainly while Mr. Rangel's bill was pending in the House hopper, the specter of a draft persisted, especially when Rangel's fellow Democrats, Max Cleland and Howard Dean, traversed the nation flatly accusing President Bush of having a "secret plan" to restore the draft.
Who is being dishonest here, Rep. Rangel? Who is prostituting not just the legislative process but a presidential election as well?"
Rangel is a DNC pimp.
Meek - need a "Raw Deal" graphic here!
one demographic that is significantly trending Bush is
18-29 year olds.....the draft scare tactic isn't working.
You are right. these loony lefties should take a moment and reflection on what John sKerry is saying, and what the people who are currently in the Armed forces are saying.
First, those most likely to volunteer their service in the armed forces will be less likely to do so while John sKerry is CiC. And secondly, John sKerry says he's going to add 2 divisions. How is he going to do that without invoking the draft? lets also remember that the draft bill that the Republicans just voted down was sponsored by a democrat!
So, reduced volunteers, and the addition of 2 divisions is going to trigger sKerry to invoke the draft to fulfill his promises (which we both know he has no intention of fulfilling).
