YOU VOICE CAN BE HEARD... BOB SCHIEFFER IS LISTENING... CHRISTIANS, GET OTHER CHRISTIANS TO GET OUT THE VOTE !!!!
Dear Mr. Schieffer, (ftn@cbsnews.com)
I heard you say you are receiving quite a few emails with suggestions of questions to ask, and that you are "framing" your questions based on some of what people are asking you. Here's my thoughts on what many Americans might like to know about our candidates....
Perhaps this first one might be one that you consider for yourself, or might ask:
1. What is truth?... How do you define truth? How do the candidates define truth? Can you really get at truth? (73,00 websites below ask the same question).
2. How would the candidates define "WHO THEY ARE, instead of what they've done?"
3. We obviously know exactly President Bush's positions, hopefully you might have Senator Kerry BETTER DEFINE some of his positions (like abortions, marriage, and does his faith play a role in his decisions ?
4. Is marriage between a man and a woman a worthwhile goal for society? WHY OR WHY NOT? If so, what should the Federal Government do to insure it is or remains a worthwhile goal? How can we stop Judicial activism? How do you explain previous votes or positions on these issues? HOW WOULD EACH DEFINE WHEN "A LIFE BEGINS" IN ORDER THAT GOVERNMENT THEN HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT IT?
5. Is it more important for Government to provide incentives for ownership of homes, businesses, investments, retirement plans, OR, is it more important for government to provide stop gaps for those who can't provide for themselves? (OR IS IT OF EXACTLY EQUAL IMPORTANCE?)
6. What/who was responsible for the recession at the end of the Clinton Administration, and what/who is responsible for our recovery from that recession that President Bush inherited?
7. Should any consideration be given to the fact there have been no further terrorists attacks since 9/11 at home? Does President Bush get any credit for that? If not, then why should it even be an issue to discuss for this election.
8. Is there any point that government should not fund science that destroys life for research? In order words, do you have any point that you would define where life begins?
9. President Clinton lied under oath over a "sexual" matter. Was this a "serious crime", or a minor mistake to be overlooked?
10. Assuming there is standard for a way to determine "truth", should filmmakers like Michael Moore be subject to government penalties for distorting the truth about America, worldwide, during a time of war?

"Senator Kerry: How come every illegal immigrant that wades the Rio is able to find a job in about 10 minutes? Meanwhile, your Dimocratic core constituency has been unemployed for years. Are your supporters lazy, Senator Kerry? Or are they stupid?"

Senator Kerry....You've stated that you "plan" to add 40,000 active duty troops and double special forces where you are elected. Where will these people come from or how will you bring this about? Is it your "plan" to re-instate the draft?
What is the format for tonights debate? Is it a townhall meeting, again?
"your questions based on some of what people are asking you"
Dan Rather?
"Mr. Kerry, you state that your Navy records are available for all to see yet the requisite release form -- Form 180, has not been signed by you. I have one right here; Mr. Kerry, would you be willing to sign this form for the American People -- just as our President has, right here, right now?"
Kerry would respond that we must not be afraid to speak Truth To Power, and that when General Szniknkky spoke the truth about the number of troops we need in the Iraq war, he was retired.
From there, he might go on a riff about how Christopher Reeve would be alive and dancing today if George Bush had only listened to the truth about embreyonic stem cells.
"Senator Kerry, do you think that gasoline should be cheaper than it is now, or more expensive? How about taxes?"
Is Kerry a "Post Turtle?"
While suturing a laceration on the hand of an 80-year-old grizzled Texas rancher, a doctor and the old Texan were talking about the possibility of John Kerry being in the White House.
The old Texan said, "Well ya know, Kerry's one of them 'Post Turtles'."
Not knowing what the old man meant the Doctor asked him what a "Post Turtle" was. The old man said, "Well, when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a "Post Turtle".
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doc's face so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he is up there, and you just want to help the poor dumb ass get down afore he hurts hisself."
Not THIS Christian!
Not this one either.
