Kerry uses Florida church appearance to lie again about 2000 election fraud
Vanity | 10/10/04 | AC86UT89

Few things are as disgusting to me as the way John Kerry and other Democrat politicians use appearances at predominantly Black churches to spread their lies and race-baiting. Kerry was at it again today at a church in Florida, repeating the canard that "1 million African-Americans in Florida were dis-enranchised in 2000 and we cannot let that happen again!"

A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation shows this statement to be a bold-faced lie:

Total Population of Florida in 2000 (2000 census): 17,019,068

Proportion of Population is Black: 14.6%

Therefore, Florida Population is Black: 2,484,784

(Highful doubtful that almost HALF of the maximum possible number of Black voters in Florida were dis-enfranchised!)

But of course not everybody votes. So let's factor the calculation to account for turnout. We cannot know for sure what proportion of the voting population was African-American, but we can use a projection based on the census figures:

Total number of votes cast in Florida 2000: 5,963,110

Number cast by Blacks (projected based on Population): 870,614

... which, of course, is less than 1 Million in the first place!

So the claim is bogus on its face!

Kerry's use of church appearances to spread these race-baiting falsehoods disgusting. But, of course, the MSM simply replays their racist attacks without challenging them in the least or pointing out that the claim of "1 Million Blacks disenfranchised in Florida" is statistically impossible. I predicted that if Kerry were on the ropes by mid-October he would turn to race-baiting and agism, and that is exactly what is happening.

Let's make sure we take every opportunity to expose how Kerry is going beyond merely taking African American voters for granted, but is once again resorting to lies, fear-mongering and racism to take advantage of Black Americans.

When will people realize that Kerry's remarks and half truths are racism in its worst form.

WHY can demoncrats use churches for POLITICAL purposes but when REPUBLICAN steps into one, the feds want to REVOKE their tax exempt status?

I didn't know Kerry was religious; I'd be curious as to how many times he went to Mass before the election year. So I find it a bit odd that he seems to be "preaching" every Sunday in a black church. Take him back to 30 years ago and ask him whether he thought it was right then, or now, to have borne false witness against his neighbor in the form of his fellow soldiers (the Genghis Khan lies about Vietnam before Congress). Or, perhaps as I suspect, he doesn't have a clue that its one of the Ten Commandments.

As I'ver remarked previously in some sense every Democratic victory is the result of vote fraud. By telling huge lies targeted at the most ignorant and vulnerable voters over and over they essentially change the election from one between competing candidates and ideology into a marketing campaign.

Is a victory won based on pure lies worthy of our respect? How do other Americans feel about being led by a man who has resorted to the most base, foul, and fascist-style of manipulation to gain power? These are the tactics demagogs use to gain power, traditionally.

I agree. Churhes are not the place to make political speeches.

Dems get away with it, and a number of other things, because REPULICANS ALLOW THEM TO DO SO.

REPUBLICANS NEVER SAY A WORD AGAINST DEMS, when they are in the WRONG.

How many Florida blacks are felons in prison? I'm sure these are part of the "disenfranchised" number Kerry uses.

I heard the exchange when he talked from the pulpit in that church and it was met with sparse applause... The Dems are getting it for a sound bite but Kerry is no Clinton...

You know this really pisses me off. Why do the Repubs. always sit back and let these A$$hole Dems. go into churches and campaign. I thought that was illegal (not like they would care about that). The Dems scream bloody murder if we even look at a church.

I think that freepers should start a legal fund and start sueing to get these churches status changed. If a few churches get sued and their tax exemption changed whenever the Rats come a callen they'll stop this crap.

I totally agree with you. Law suits need to start flying at these churches. I am sick and tired of Catholic churches being railroaded for every little thing, but Clinton and Gore can enter a black church and campaign for Gray Davis. Either the law needs to change so that it is legal to start doing this (which is actually the way I think it should be), or the Republicans need to start sueing these black churches. Why don't they ever address this??

Thank you. This needs repeating. It's just part of the give & take in this "Two-Party Cartel" orchestrated by the elites to prevent a true conservative agenda.

"WHY can demoncrats use churches for POLITICAL purposes but when REPUBLICAN steps into one, the feds want to REVOKE their tax exempt status?"

Because this election is also a spiritual war. The forces of good and evil are quite evident this year. Remember to pray for our President.

According to the 2000 Census, the number of blacks age 18 and over in Florida numbered 1,560,928. Thus, for Kerry's claim to be factual if blacks had 100% turn out, 2 out of 3 would have had to have been disenfranchised. Or, if 2 out 3 three blacks turned out to vote, 100% would have had to have been disenfranchised.

This is a ludicrous lie, but the left and their allies in the MSM do not fact check. If a claim bolster's their case, it's accepted at face value because emotionally, they feel it's right.

Our country has enough polarization without this type of race baiting from a major party presidential nominee. Anyone who fails to condemn this speech is without shame. But then, we're talking about Democrats so I'm being redundant.
