"The BRussells Tribunal is a commission of inquiry into the “New Imperial Order”, and more particularly into the “Project for A New American Century” (PNAC), the neo-conservative think tank that has inspired the Bush government’s war logic. The co-signatories of the PNAC “mission statement” include Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz. The programme of this Think tank is to promote planetary hegemony on the basis of a supertechnological army, to prevent the emergence of a rival super-power and to take pre-emptive action against all those who threaten American interests. The BRussells Tribunal will be held in Brussels from April 14 through 17. One of the greatest living philosophers, Jacques Derrida, who suffers from cancer and is unable to attend the tribunal, has invited the project’s initiator, Lieven De Cauter, to his house for an interview. "

Doesn't sound like a friend of conservatism.

Never heard of the guy either.

One death is the same as any other death.

The true question is whether his meta-life will continue.

The concept "dead" is just a construct of the live hegemonic class to subjugate a lesser class.

Well, I looked up the deceased and "deconstruction" in the Encyclopedia.

Can't decide if he should be scorned or simply derided.

And my favorite cat died 5 years ago.

I am sure the effect on the modern world is the same (but this should be a good comedy thread)

Bush came back swinging last night.

Prime Minister John Howard of Australia won a convincing re-election battle in Australia.

And now Derrida is dead.

Things just keep getting better and better!

I think the worms will go in and out his snout.

But, the destructive influence of that astonishing hubris of a mere humans who would philosophize God out of existence (as if that were possible) lives on; a venal worm in its own right, eating away at the corpse of western civilization.
