BARSTOW, Calif. (AP) - An 11-year-old attacked her baby sitter with a machete during a struggle that included attempts by the girl to grab a baseball bat, a shovel and a BB gun, investigators said.
The girl fled on a bicycle after the attack but was arrested about an hour later and booked for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, said Sgt. Doug Hubbard, of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The 34-year-old sitter telephoned deputies after fending off the Tuesday attack and locking herself and the girl's 12-year-old sister in the bathroom of the Mojave Desert home, Hubbard said.

Sounds like an anger management problem. Actually I wonder if there is a hormone imbalance ala PMS that set her off. The article didn't give enough background on whether they had a good relationship before the dog argument.

Sounds like the parents left the kid with a sitter for a reason. They are probably never to be seen again.

All children experience the same biological changes called puberty, and they are unhappy at different times through this period.
To call it an "anger management problem" is probably putting it lightly. I'm willing to bet there's many more problems in that house than this.
And all that will mean is putting them on the government dime for help.
I was being sarcastic with my first remark. Sorry I didn't put that tag in there. I was serious with the rest of the remark. PMS started early for me and I would say I was berzerk during that time. But thankfully my parents didn't leave machetes laying around the lawn.
It's not normal behavior, that's for sure. Maybe Ritalin? Or mental problems and off her meds?
In Houston, there was a 10 year old who killed his own father and the grandparents are suing and among them is the company that makes Paxil or Prozac. The shooter was on an anti-depressant drug.
