Was anyone else offended as an American by Edwards' "America's bright light is flickering" remark? You can say that to a jury, but not to the whole of America.
I would hope that the president will capitalize on the "flickering light" nonsense in his upcoming speech. That's the same kind of "mailaise" comment that destroyed Jimmuh Carter's lame campaign. Go for the jugular, Mr. Bush.
Edwards' comment about America's bright light flickering was reminiscent of Carter's malaise speech! Same smarminess, it's all your fault, yada yada yada. Get out the hankies. Edwards tried to come across as your pal, your friend who'll fight for you as long as you line his pocket. He looked and sounded like a trial lawyer, like a used car salesman...same thing. Lawyers are loathed by Americans for very good reasons, and picking Edwards was just plain dumb. He didn't do Kerry any good tonight, just reminded America why we hate lawyers.
"Was anyone else offended as an American by Edwards' "America's bright light is flickering" remark?"
As a matter of fact, yes, I was. What's with all this gloom and doom?
Yes and totally agree. Cadell on Fox also remarked on this and said that kind of statement should have been mentioned up front, not something to end on. Typical Dem doom and gloom. It it's bad, they are happy.
I thought the line about "America's light is flickering" was the worst moment of the debate for Kedwards.
In fact, I thought his entire closing statement was lame, lame, lame.
If Americas bright light is flickering, its cause liberals are standing in front of it.
