I'm watching the 2nd airing for the debates

Edwards pulled a Mondale by admitting he and Kerry plan on raising taxes (on those making $200,000 and above)

This is amazing. Cheney tears the Breck girl's numbers and "facts" to shreds and thanks to my time on FR I don't even have to look it up to see that Cheney is correct.

I'm watching the replay too, and BreckGirl's note taking is not related to the substance of rebuttal, but it's a grandiose attempt (see page tear) to take viewer attention off of Cheney's arguments in that split screen. So Cheney lifted up his tablet after the page tear!!! LOL~!

I think Dennis Miller said on his show that Trey and Matt will be on with him tomorrow. That will be a hoot with the three of them!

clevelands woes have nothing to do with the current administration

Yeah, when Edwards was talking about the 800 laid-off teachers, I thought, "This city has 31% unemployment and 800 teachers being laid off, and I haven't heard of any other major city laying teachers off. Sounds like a local problem to me."

Like your reply. The least likely people to stand with you to defend this nation are a VC war hero (as another poster said) and a sleazy trial lawyer.

Four things were on the table when it started. Two things were on the table when it ended. When Silky's Mom came up to collect her son, he said "Mom, Mom, watch out for my ...."

Yes .. he had a habit of not sticking to the topic and the question asked

Note the question about AIDS .. he answers the question in relation to Africa and Gwenn specifically said the question what not about AIDS in Africa but about at home

When Cheney makes a salient point, Edwards makes a wide scratching gesture on his notepad like .... "erase THAT foray". Such a contrived body language gambit. These guys are really creepy.

It's obvious that the coaching they are getting is completely connected to the split screen stupidity.

"Okay Senator Edwards, when the VP makes a winning point be sure to do grandiose and flourish-laden set of notetaking so it looks like his comment was so weak that you can rebut it easily. When he hits a home run, make a note and wildly scratch it out so that you're showing everyone that his comment is negated."

"Keep the audience attention on your reaction to Cheney's points, not his original points."

Get rid of the Freaking split screens. These RAT drama queens are masters of the farce.

I just checked the google news headlines and 99% call the debate a win for Edwards or a draw.

I was honest and said that Kerry "won" the last debate. I'm not so partisan that I can't see the truth for what it is. So, what debate were these people watching? Cheney clobbered Edwards! Can someone show me anything RELIABLE regarding the reactions of undecided voters?

I just can't believe the headlines I'm reading. Is this the Twilight Zone?

I was so proud of Vice President Cheney. He did not let me down. I wish that the President was as good a debater. Cheney just outclassed The Silky Pony with that cool, calm and precise manner of his. Not since Reagan have I enjoyed a debate so much. The democrats are so frivolous and trivial, and so utterly clueless on how to deal with the terrorist enemy. Once again it was a reminder that we should banish them to oblivion on election day.

Sorry I am late to respond; you are right, few of us responded to you (haven't been to the end of this thread yet).

I will say that I was a bit too harsh in my disagreement with you, but I still think you were too harsh in your judgement of the President.

I didn't respond much to anyone after about halfway through the debate. The system was too slow and went down a couple of times for me.

When they wake up tomorrow and realize they can't spin this into an Edwards win they will use it to attack Bush by saying Cheney did better.

Exactly right. 5:25 Central Time, Fox News, Ellis Hannican: Cheney did far better than Bush, ergo, he is running things.

...but why do Bush/Cheney never call Kerry/Edwards, etc. when they start the "No WMD, link to Al-Q, blah blah". There's the things brought up in the 9/11 report re: AL-Q/Iraq relationship and the testimony before Congress regarding ability to manufacture WMD. Are they just letting Kerry/Edwards rant and rave?

I agree. The response should be that the 9/11 Commission found links between AQ and Iraq and that there is still no definitive proof that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11.
