I got a question I've wanted to pose to everyone on FR so it goes. I've been reading on here numerous times about possible voter fraud and what it could mean to the Bush re-election. The question I have is this; even though all these new applications for voter registration are being received in states like Ohio, Neveda, Michigan, and others, don't the people still have to vote using these false registrations for this to become an effective ploy to use? I mean even though all these registrations for new voters are coming in I would assume that the people would still have to physically vote right?
If these registrations are fraudulent, and the people's name on them don't actually exist, then it wouldn't really matter how many registrations were received would it>
And it would take a great organizational structure to follow up and try to have someone cast a vote using all these registrations. Surely if the same person was going around and voting numerous times using different voter registration credentials in different districts the logistics of doing that would be enormous.
Can you say 'absentee ballot'?
What credentials? I live in Ohio and I have never been asked for anything but telling them my name.
I've heard that these organizations drive busloads of people from district to district to be able to vote multiple times.
But these reports haven't been saying absentee ballots. They've been saying "registration." There should be a difference.
The problem is that in many states you don't need to show ID to vote, just sign in. So, the "capacity" for vote fraud in enlarged with fraudulent registrations. The Dems can then rotate around their bus loads to vote in several different areas.
With groups like ACT having lists of who they have registered, it just makes it all that much easier to target the busloads.
Surely not, this would be such an outright attempt at deception. But I guess that's what the Demoratic party is all about huh?
First they register, then they request the absentee ballot?
I would be interested in hearing if the requests for absentee ballots are up in these same states.

You don't even have to sign your name? In NM we have to sign our name on the line next to our name in the registration list. We don't have to show any ID though.
The registration of a dead person is one thing, but many places do not require any ID at voting time and that is where the real crime comes in.
Really, to cheat the system, all you need is an insider at a polling place willing to drop a bunch of fake ballots in a box. It's all too easy.
Once you are registered you can vote in person or via absentee. If you don't exist, it's probably better to do it by mail where the chances of being caught are smaller.
Also, if you are registering people unlikely to vote, you can 'help' them fill out their absentee ballot
They aren't doing these fraudulent registrations for no reason at all --- they're doing them because they intend to steal this election any way they can.
It's like a woman here who was amnestied under 4 names, had 4 separate identities --- it wasn't until she was picked up for shoplifting recently and they found the 4 IDs she was using --- after investigating they found each identity was collecting welfare handouts --- only 2 from the same state. People don't commit fraud just for the fun of it.
But isn't there a process whereby these applications coming in are even checked to see if the person is an actual person?

That's the one thing I was most afraid of. Absentee ballots I would assume would be the best way to commit voter fraud. All this talk about bussing people from one district to another voting numerous times would be such a difficult way to do this, but absentee-ism would be much easier. I would hope, though, that there would be some check and balances in place to verify that these people even exist and they are who they say they are.
"I've already processed about 800 absentee ballot applications," Wayne County Clerk Sue Anne Lower said Friday, "and I've got a stack about 2 inches high to still go through."
"The absentees are unreal," Preble County (Ohio) Board of Elections director Marilyn Jackson said. She had about 350 ballots ready to go in the mail and a total of about 600 applications as of Friday.
There's one other way such registrations can be helpful. If one assume one party registers a lot of fraudulent voters, one would also assume they are registered with that party's affiliation (for example, DEMOCRAT). That drives up the dem portion of registered voters in that precinct.
If the eventual election is challenged in that district, lawyers will use the proportional party affiliation in their legal arguments.
