Dean says foreign policy will determine presidential election
Bob Kinzel
"..(Kinzel) Dean also disclosed that the Texas National Guard officer who gave CBS News false documents concerning the Guard service of President Bush, contacted Dean several weeks ago to see if Dean would forward this information to the Kerry campaign. It's a request that Dean says he turned down:
(Dean) "I believed it because there was no reason for me not to believe it. I didn't do anything with it just because I get calls from people all the time asking, suggesting that I send this to John Kerry and that to John Kerry. And I'm trying to be fairly judicious in what I do, frankly. I've been out of the country for the last six days and I have not seen as the big brouhaha over CBS so I don't really know how it evaluate all that."

The poor sap probably deluded himself into thinking he was dealing with "honorable people"...

this is significant. it means that burkett was trying to contact john kerry himself, does it not?

They are really trashing him over at DU, after he's been a hero to them for several years...

Burkett got to Dean but could not get to Joey on his own? Interesting. If its true, that is. Dean could be trying to help ou here, and make it look like CBS was not in collusion with Burkett and the kerry cabal.

A lone nutbag not only gets access to Cleland and Lockhart, but the presumed front runner in the Dem primary? Yeah, I'm not cynical.

Typical of the folks at DU & Dems in general. They praise those who serve their agenda, but will turn on them as soon as they no longer tow the line or serve the agenda. This is an interesting development.

(Dean) "I believed it because there was no reason for me not to believe it. You know, just like I believed that President Bush had advanced knowledge of 9/11.
Only that time I threw caution to the wind and just put it out there for public consumption.
Dip.
To: RagingBull
But he says the national news media has failed to cover the key issues of the campaign and instead has chosen to focus its attention on less important matters.Like hurricanes, forged documents, bypass surgeries, the interim leader of Iraq....yada, yada. I don't believe anything Dean says. He just wants to stay in the fray.

That is highly contradictory of Burkett's pious denial that CBS contacted him about about documents and if Burkett was talking to Dean about documents how is it remotely reasonable that he DID NOT talk to Lockhart about Documents?
