That's good. That's very good.

Keep 'em coming, Rhema. Humourless libs (are there any other kind?) *hate* being laughed at.

I have to say this.

There is no way that guy should have taken his daughter to protest Kerry/Edwards.

I abhor what the union thugs did, but that guy was exploiting his small child and putting her in a potentially dangerous situation.

If your statement is true, then the time for civil discussion has ended, and we must instead prosecute a civil war against the Democratic party and their brownshirt union thugs with the sort of fanaticism and ruthlessness normally seen in such groups as al-Qaeda, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, and Hizbullah.

If you can't go to a small gathering at the airport and hold a sign, that's pretty darn sad. This wasn't a protest march or anything of the sort. Their signs weren't full of hateful pictures and sayings (like some lefties I've seen). If the shoe was on the other foot I would hope a Bush supporter wouldn't rip up someones Kerry sign, especially if it was held by a small child. This family has been taking their kids to political events for years. I think it's great. Far too many folks sit at home and their kids learn nothing.
I for one am fed up with people making excuses for that union guy's deplorable behavior.

If your statement is true, then the time for civil discussion has ended . . .

Absolutely right.

When the day comes that I have to fear for my child's safety at a political rally, that is the day we know the negotiations have ended and the fighting begins.

I had to read that several time before I saw the "parody". Pretty sad when I think that this was actually published.

Agreed. Little kids should NOT be put into those sorts of situations.

Of course it is a parody, but what makes it effective is that the verbiage attributed to The Nation is not very different at all from what they actually print.

Yes. The Union did amazingly enough -- The Herald-Dispatch has an article where it stated that the in-DUH-vidual responsible was identified by the union and will be disciplined. The money quote:

The person that many Democrats said was Parlock’s son wore a T-shirt suggesting he is a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, AFL-CIO. Friday afternoon, James A. Williams, general president of the union, issued a statement apologizing to the Parlock family.

The incident at the airport "is an affront to everything we, as a union, pride ourselves to represent," Williams’ statement said.

"I have personally taken steps to address this issue internally, and will take immediate disciplinary action to the fullest extent allowed under U.S. Department of Labor regulations and the constitution of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades."

I am not normally fond of unions, but I think this one should be given a kudo for its action.
