It is sad to see CBS, the revered trademark of objectivity in the days of Walter Cronkite, become a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. Keep up the good work. Robert Manzano Brooklyn

Responsible journalism is not exactly dead. But it's been hit by a truck and is sprawled out on the side of the road. An apology by CBS and "60 Minutes," and an acknowledgement that haste makes waste, will suffice. They should have taken more time to check their story whether it turns out to be true or not. In the meantime, viewers should boycott CBS. Pamela Carley Manhattan

Each day that Dan Rather clings to his story is another day that CBS could be spending looking for his replacement. They need someone with more credibility. Jayson Blair, Peter Arnett or Baghdad Bob come to mind. Bob Moffitt Sloatsburg

Beautiful.
Dan Rather is finished. But he'll never admit it. He'll just claim he was going to retire this year anyway..
Ya think?
Walter Cronkite: "And finally tonight. In a just published report in the New England Journal of Medicine; smoking marijuana causes a person to sstttuuuutter."
OK, since CBS is stonewalling, it's obviously time now to play hardball. We must begin outright accusing CBS News and Dan Rather of conspiring with the Kerry campaign and the DNC every chance we get.
In the unlikely event that this statement is actually untrue, it will not matter, since CBS will not reveal the source. We can make the charge with absolute impunity.
The onus is on CBS News now. If they do not disprove this claim (as they have demanded that others disprove theirs), then we can cite this fact as proof that the charge is true.

You don't waste a lot of time on stuff this outlandish, dimwit! Even if it were true (and it's far from being proven)... what is the big deal? Besides, Why didn't we learn about this before electing the man? Doesn't 4 years as COMMANDER IN CHIEF trump any ANG experience?
Enough time wasted on anybody-but-Bush-automatons and embarrassments to my home state. What a stupid, partisan, blind person...
ping
Dumbo doesn't know this is accepted political strategy ...........never ever repeat the charges.
Oh, you poor dear, how can we comfort you? If only Dan had more time. Oh my goodness, what will we say if it turns out that the story is true? How will we ever make amends to Dan? Oh, the humanity!
Thank our inate humanistic sense of fair play that we have Manhattan to lend a note of compassion and sisterhood to this icky scandal. We "should boycott CBS", why Pamela, I can only imagine the Goterdammerung that you would bring down on Saddam, like, maybe, shunning him?
IMO Walter Chronkite was the biggest traitor of them all...he cultivated trust...in order to betray
The tv media has always been left...it took the Internet to begin waking up some of the people
The interactive nature of the Internet news blogs is far more appealing than being propagandized by a bunch of arrogant morally compromised 'journalists'
The best part is listening and watching them 'foam at the mouth'...trying to tell folks that MSM is still better than any 'amateurs'...and we need to listen to them and them only to get 'the real truth in news'...they still revert to their old schtick to debunk the so called professionalism of the 'new media'...they are on the defensive..
They consider themselves the great pedagogues of reality and their audience merely empty headed pupils..in need of their guidance..
The ministers of propaganda are losing their congregations...and they are beginning to panic
They cant wrap their little minds around the idea they are washed up...no longer needed
their propaganda tainted reality can now be triangulated...their spin easily dismissed by reporters in every house...
watching over their shoulders...
truth can be found in a multitude of eye witnesses...who have no agenda...other than the truth
Something American journalists lost....long ago....
imo

Blather and Crankite appear to be suffering from the dreaded "CBS".........Cranial Butt Suppository.
We're taking back this culture and the lib-freaks better get used to it.
The show will cover a variety of subjects, such as health, celebrity news, and politics. Look for stories similar to these examples of journalism at its finest:
On the subject of health-

MAN PICKS HIS NOSE AND FINDS A PEARL!
COW POOP TEA!
THE HAIRPIECE FROM HELL
Celebrity News:
BAT BOY STEALS CAR--AND GOES ON THREE STATE JOY RIDE

Political News:
BUSH USING VODOO TO K.O. KERRY
SEVEN CONGRESSMEN ARE ZOMBIES!
Executives at See BS are excited about this show. It's a chance for the main stream media outlet to demonstrate the superior quality of its reporting, as opposed to less reliable sources such as the Internet and bloggers. All stories covered will of course have full documentation provided.
