The SeeBS website has only ONE article about the memo, staunchly defending its authenticity

If your average, naive, gullible citizen visits the CBS website, they'll assume all of this buzz about forgeries is no cause for concern. See BS continues to hide the truth

It must suck to be a reporter at SeeBS and have to report on this. Just suck.

My local newspaper had on article about the memos, of course. But today when I went to read on the possible fraud of the memos, nothing was there. They will be hearing from me.

I was waiting to see their latest position and I'm stunned that they have not budged. This is a snip of their description of their sources: unimpeachable sources, interviews with former Texas National Guard officials and individuals who worked closely back in the early 1970s with Colonel Jerry Killian and were well acquainted with his procedures, his character and his thinking," the statement read. I'm just waiting for them to say MTV and Ashton really Punk'd Dan big time.

Today's main webpage of The Commercial Appeal - Memphis also has no story links to the memo scandal.

CBS does not have to even respond now. Dan Rather left it last night with a sort of "if anything new turns up, we'll be sure and let you know...". So, CBS can just cut one (to put it bluntly) then, defend it, the just shut up and move along to Hurricane Ivan and Abu Garieb Prison scandal. CBS does not have to say another thing about it.

Remember Sandy Berger? We thought that was going to bring Kerry down. It's forgotten.

Remember the Swift Boat Vets for Truth? We thought that was going to bring Kerry down. The MSM has ignored and ignore it still.

Now, CBS can cut this one and leave the room...so to speak. As far as they are concerned, nothing new has turned up...

As DRUDGE says: Developing...................

But what do you think of the Punk'd angle?
After all isn't MTV their sister station?

How else can they explain this?

One might think that Dan Rather, of all people, would know that the cover-up is often worse than the deed. It will be poetic to see him and his network go the way of Nixon.

The story is over. It has no legs. None of the talk shows will cover it tommorow. The MSM has covered for one of it's own. Sad

I may be mistaken but I thought the article on their website used to contain a reference to Hodges but now it doesn't.

Sad if true. But IMO, this story is not going away. CBS's defense of authenticity is lame, and the so-called experts it used are speaking out against CBS. The FBI has weighed in that the documents are not authentic. Some of the big media players are keeping the story alive (ABC for one), and a number of columns have presented reasoned opinions that conclude the documents are forged.

When the DEMs attempt to use the contents of the memos as subject matter for discussion (which they are doing, BTW), it puts pressure on those who suspect or know the documents are forged to make their case. It isn't going away. No way.

Like the article line says: "SeeBS continues to hide the truth" That is exactly what CBS will continue to do. Then during September and October, CBS 60 Minutes I & II will MoveOn (as it were) to other lies and scandal and make lame attempts to defend their position and then drop it.

It's all to get Kerry elected by and and every means necessary... To heck with truth and balance and integrity...CBS now has confirmed that they care nothing about that... leave that to the "blogg-o-sphere"

The keepers of the Journalism truth are ignoring this non-story. Although there are a variety of pundits such as Poynter/Romensko, CJR, and a host of teachers & forums on journalism "ethics"....their silence is deafening.

The result is that while it's alive in the blog, it's not on the evening news or on the front page or even in the newspapers.

That is correct. Not today, it is not. But it will be, and my earlier post explained why. When the DEMs bring up the points in the memos, the issue of forgery comes along as necessary baggage. Not in every media venue, but in enough of them. And the "experts" that CBS relied on are AGAINST CBS from here on out.

My newspaper (The Boston Glob) was shilling for CBS's forgeries this morning. They're going to have a lot of explaining to do in 2-3 days when this becomes clearer...
