CBS Forgery: The next step
The American Insomniac ^ | American Insomniac

The new media has done an an awe-inspiring job exposing the CBS forgery. But now comes the real test: Can we take the next step and prove where the CBS forgeries came from? Drudge obviously has sources inside CBS. Anybody else?

Smart money says DNC/Kerry, duh, but we really need a name.

That's my feeling... this has happened before, and it will happen again. I'm just not sure there's enough power behind the movement to discredit CBS right now.

Very interesting, indeed. Thanks. Do you have any info on Maj Gen Bobby Hodges?

Only what I am reading here or google news.

No, they didn't actually fake that thing about the exploding gas tanks. As it came out later, the explosions came because the vehicle was being driven drunk by George W. Bush. Didn't you see the internal memo?

Arthur Anderson did the same sort of thing CBS is doing here.

What we have is just another godless, soulless corporate giant cheating their customers again.

The very survival of the CBS network is hanging in the balance.

This (along with the image of the CBS 'Eye' logo) made me think of a Bible verse.
(Paraphrasing here): Why do you worry about the speck in you neighbor's eye when you have a beam in your own EYE.

Someone should go pick up the weasel Chris Lehane and hook him up to a polygraph. I think we all know what might happen.

The MSM is slowly doing its job on this issue as well.

I just saw a report on CNN Headline news which was quite skeptical of the CBS document claims.

Rather and CBS, IMHO, have lost touch with reality. Those docs are clearly forgeries; every single critical method strongly indicates this.

And CBS doesn't even have the ORIGINALS to look at!

How can a handwriting analyst provide any decent evaluation?

Even if the signature was authentic, since the docs are only copies, it could have obviously been cut-and-pasted by anoyone with minimal graphics skills.

CBS better wake up and try to salvage the situation, before it is completely destroyed as a credible news source.

I can't believe Rather is going to stake his career on these flimsy, non-original documents. He is truly a blind, partisan fool if he does so.

What in the hell were Rather and CBS thinking?

CBS SHOULD HAVE INSISTED ON SEEING THE ORIGINALS. THE FACT THAT THEY DID NOT SPEAKS VOLUMES.

How about a slander suit by the Killians? Sounds like a good next step to me.

I am not sure why Republicans are not screaming for an investigation.

The old adage, when someone is shooting themselves in the foot it is best to just get out of the way.  Or something like that.

I found a 1970s era Selectric II typewriter.

The only probalem is, it has 10 characters per inch. I typed the first line of the CYA memo, and the last word I can get on the line is "trouble" with no additional spaces.

Considering the 8 inch paper and a one inch margin (required in military correspondence) on either side, that would leave 6 inchs per line of characters. The 12 pitch would have an additional 12 characters per line. Two spaces (before and after running) and "running" would add up to 9 more spaces. More than likely, the typist would have typed the "in-" on that line.

With those three spaces missing from the second line, "Bush's" would have easily fit onto the second line.

Thoughts anyone?????

Look for someone with ties to Susan Esterich, she seems to have had some foreknowledge of the National Guard smear.

Have any other prominate demonRats recently (before this broke) hinted that damaging stuff was coming. If so that person was aware of all this. I bet it was being saved for right before the election, but events forced their hand at this time. I think the person who provided those docs to cBS ought to be a hero. Taking John Kerry out for good, and taking out dan rather as well. The msm will not rush into this, but they will have their on credibility called into question by the masses now if they protect drather (dan rather) and cbs actively, or by by pretending there is no story here. The msm may very well be forced into a little more balance for a short time.

"...I am not sure why Republicans are not screaming for an investigation."

Bush and the RNC would MUCH rather have FR, swiftvets, and others do some of this 'dirty' work, at least up until the point where everyone has recognized that the emperor is wearing no clothes. (In this case, The Dan being the emperor.)

This is the kind of thing that Carville would dream up and get someone else to carry out. Notice, that this forgery didn't occur until AFTER Carvile joined the Kerry campaign. Notice, also, that Kerry's campaign (as Rush pointed out this past week) has been taken over by former Clintonistas like Carville, Begala and McCormick.

I don't think Carville is sharp enough to catch the technical inconsistencies of the forgeries but he's egotistical enough to think he can get away with it.

Regardless of who in the Kerry campaign is actually responsible, Blather and SeeBS are toast. I haven't watched either in years and now I have more reasons not to.

It only takes one thing to prove forgery, but cBS is taking the track that only one thing is needed to prove authenticity. They have that one thing. The officer who supposedly wrote these memos spoke english, and the memos are in english . . .

This is the most important question, IMO. Why isn't the rest of the media asking where these documents are from? If they were real, they should be able to tell us where they came from, and it should not be a big deal. That they can't tell us, is proof to me that they are fake.

The fact that CBS totally ignored the statements of the Killian family and didn't even mention their side speaks volumes as well! I find that alone to be appalling.
