Hey look at the frothy pink water-Oh God Kenny there's blood in the water!!!
That darned th is sitting right on the line next to 147 in the Martin letter. Imagine that!
Sure, those look nearly identical. / sarcasm
What I love about all this is that it shows what an paragon of integrity Dan Rather is. He is going down. He has to.
Of course the most telling difference is the "th". This has got to go to all the usual folks. Drudge, for example, could easily post a side-by-side of the two docs.
Whoever did the forgery type 04 when in those days it was only 4 as no one had heard of 04. That is what a Guide to Writing Pamphlet I found last night from 1972 says. The date is written 4 May 1972.
It was reported by Major Garrett on Fox's Special Report tonight that President Bush requested service in Vietnam twice and was turned down both times due to lack of hours flying.
BOOM!
It's amazing what pajama clad Freepers can uncover. LOL!
Print your two examples and have a look at them. It will become crystal clear which is the fake.
Also, on the genuine memo--you can tell that it was a form document, with areas left blank to be filled in later. That's why the text changes and is off center.
The most glaringly obvious thing on the fake memo are the tab settings, which change dramatically when the doc is printed. It's CLEAR to me beyond any doubt that the "new" memo is fake.
Notice that the one done on the typewriter doesn't have the text perfectly parallel with the top edge of the page, but the fake one does. Man, there is so much we take for granted with word processing.
Funny how the TexANG would acquire a typewriter with such a fancy font and then trash it for one with a run-of-the-mill font.
now that's a catch
I was typing security clearances in an S-2 shop in 1972-74 for the Army. Underwood MANUAL typewriter.
Do the moguls of old media feel the cliff unmorselling from their heels as they stare into the deepening abyss into whic their empire will fall?
Great scut work....thanks for posting this! :-)
Actually, it looks like it wasn't scanned straight. The paper line on the left does seem to follow the typing.
Here is an interesting question. CBS says that other Bush records show superscripts. But here is the thing. What they showed on TV when it was brought up earlier...Was not a superscript...unless they are talking of another document.
ALSO....If some of Bush's records are on computer...and they are printed out by machine.....they will look different...would they not.
Regardless.....The memo comparison you just showed seems to prove that Rather is lying though his dentures.
And remember those erasers with the eraser wheel on one end and the brush on the other?
