CBS 4 MAY 1972 Document Bogus Content
CBS PDF Documents | 9/10/2004 | LowNslow

As a military pilot the CBS 4 May 1972 document has to be totally bogus.

Military flight physicals are based on birth month, and good to the end of the month. Bush would not have been ordered and failed to perform letter issued before flt phy was due in July.

Agree, especially after 26 years in the USN. Always in birth month.

This evidence and other similar assertions indicate to me that the forger was very ignorant of military procedures.

Are you saying that Kerry had something to do with this? :)

P.O. Box "3-4-5-6-7"

wow that's original.... must have put it through a Excel random number generator... hee-heee.

As I've said," If Bush is a cocaine abuser, deserter, liar, womanizer, and idiot, he'd be the Democratic nominee for the president. Since he's not ..... he's the Republican nominee. ROFLMAO!!!

How many ways can I say.... liberals blow goats....!!! LOL

The Free Republic has just revolutionized "Open Access News gathering". I can't wait till the libs try to muzzle or tax the Internet "in order to protect the children".

For the lurkers who are 'Dem's'... "have a wonderful day!"

I have read many posts on different threads. I have not found any that address seriously the larger scope of these forgeries. These four fraudulent memos do not appear that they would ultimately do much damage to the President. One would think that if someone were to produce forgeries, they would have more damaging content.

I suspect this was only the start of a much larger campaign to smear the President's service (more than what has been attempted already). If these were not discovered, more would pop up in the upcoming weeks.

Hopefully, the competition of the news services will lead to other networks aggressively pursuing these fraud.

I think at this point, if they come out with any new documents, odds are no one would believe them even if the documents were true.

They'll have to find a new tactic now...

"I think at this point, if they come out with any new documents, odds are no one would believe them even if the documents were true."

Talk about blunder. They just supplied President Bush with asbestos-lined bunker gear.

The top line is definitely from an impact device such as a typewriter and not only that but the uneven alignment of the bottom and tops of the letters as scaled left to right indicate that the platen may not have been stable in its cradle; also, the flying tips of the caps on the individual capital letters are exctly what one would expect to see from cast dies which is what the stikebars are. Further, if one looks carefully at the individual letters they are not exactly imaged as well, compare the "Os" for instance.

Your post does not bolster the case, sorry.

Actually, the PO Box checks out: it is a legitimate address. The rest of the form and content smells like three-day old halibut.

This also came from an "impact device":

It's amazing what impact a word processor, a copier, and a fax can have on a document!

The "damaging" stuff is in the interpreation of the memos.

The charges I have seen raised based on these memos are

1. GWB refused a lawful order (did not appear for physical as ordered)
2. GWB tried to "weasel" out of his commitment
3. There was pressure "from upstairs" to treat GWB favourably.

This would be the "new" front of attacks and be supported by other "sources".

For example - the AP was running a story that GWB was "reduced" to flying trainers (and was somewhat incompetent) just before he left flying status - heavily implying [but NOT stating outright] that GWB was somehow a bad pilot [introduce drug angle / alcohol here]. He then refused his flight physical [due to previous drug/alcohol implications] - BUT - since GWB was the son of a senator - the big brass was protecting him . . . .

Very good analysis.

Don't forget, Rather must have special animosity toward the Bushes. HW slammed Dan in an interview conducted when Bush Sr. ran for president about the time Dan huffed off the set when a tennis tournament ran long leaving the news desk empty for several minutes.

I imagine that exchange is "seared" in Rather's lone brain cell.
